Unless you're actively fighting white supremacy while doing all of that because there's still a system in place to make sure they fail. Everything you described the black community had at one point. Coming out of slavery through reconstruction we progressed at a lightning pace. But we were held back because of our race and forced to remain in a second class status.

Once I have kids I'm gonna make sure I drill into their heads at a young age what white supremacy is and how it works. That statement should replace the pledge of allegiance in every majority black school in this country

America not gone allow nobody up high in the government who's main focus is pro black.

I'm thinking he's talking about our own communities, not necessarily the president, governors, and senators (at least not yet). It's making sure the mayor is black and actually cares about the black people in his 89% black city. It's about making sure the prosecutor is black so that white supremacists like bob mccolloch aren't in office. We start by making sure the people on the county school board are black and all want to change curriculum so that the students can learn about African history as well.

We gotta start locally in places where we have some semblance of control or numbers.

This post gave me a tear of joy....I'm Nigerian and I've been wanting to go see the place my dad was raised at...This just gave me a glimmer of hope for the future.

I'm familiar with the corruption in the Nigerian government as well as the instability in infrastructure. The reason why I'd accept that over the US is because that can be fixed. The politics can work itself our and the infrastructure can be upgraded. Those problems are fixable.

In America, my blackness will never be fixed. Nothing we will ever do will make those in power stop trying to oppress us. We have damn near 400 years of history of them consistently showing how much they hate us. Do we need to wait until we've been in America for a millennium and we've been getting systematically oppressed for 1,000 years before we get the hint (assuming the US lasts that long).

This is what I think people don't understand. The feeling of not being a minority psychologically changes you. I took my girl to Jamaica for the first time in April and when she get back the thing that stuck out in her mind wasn't the beaches and mountains. It was the fact that everything from the commercial to the news was all black people. She even told her mom how when she watched the news in Jamaica it was 100% positive and the stories about black people were all uplifting.

It's like this, black people will never be respected until we get Africa together. I believe it's going to take indigenous Africans and us from the diaspora.

First thing Africa will need is a formidable Army. We need our warrior spirit back. A army is also necessary because other countries will start trouble when they see Africa organizing. They need the resources Africa has...and don't want to pay fair prices for it either.

I say, Africa should obtain the skilled people they want, and partially close their borders.

Thinking bout it...what I said above is so alien to some people, Africa may need to have a MAJOR Civil war with the goal of unifying the continent.

We black Americans probably need a group of like minded individuals to make the move first. After communications with indigenous Africans of course. Say we have a group of like 10000 Americans go over there and use some of this can knowledge we have. We have engineers, military specialist, academia, medical, they go and continue good communications with us back here. Have more and more of us slowly head over there.

You essentially described what Marcus Garvey was trying to do before he got deported. He sent a group of engineers, farmers, and architects to Africa to see where would be the best place for us to go. He felt that we needed a government that represented all of us. In the same way that Jews are all throughout the globe but, their power base is in Israel. Blacks in the Diaspora need to follow suit. I forgot who said it on here but, I think he's right. One of the African countries is going to have to lead the way and dominate. It'll be ugly at first but, afterward everyone will be on the same page into the future. And it will be the beacon for the rest of the continent and Africans throughout the globe to look to. Basically Nigeria needs to become the "China" of Africa.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only person who feels that way. We need to start putting our money where our mouth is though and actually start investing in Nigeria. Make it something as religious as tithing to us. Nigeria gets a foreign economic boost, we get a return on our investment, and we create a bridge between Nigerian and African American relations.

I've said it...black people in America have alot to work on...but I don't fault others for wanting to leave. This country is not for us.

That sounds good on paper, but the reality is too much of our people are asleep for us to ever truly progress. Unless the reason you're staying is to try to wake black America the fukk up, you might as well just run cause you're making the same amount of impact. I've been saying this for a while but Mike Brown hasn't woken us up, but it did let us squirm a little in our slumber. It'll take a race riot like they used to have in the old days where they would come out and say we're killing you cause you're ******s for us to actually take this shyt seriously again.

While I'm in America, I'm gonna do everything I can to wake my people up, but I'm planning to leave this country as soon as possible. America is fukking toxic for us breh. Just the psychological effects are inhumane. Two things confirmed this for me. I decided to stop watching TV and I moved to Atlanta (a predominately black city). Not constantly being bombarded of white supremacy and black inferiority (seeing it daily on TV), plus being in a city where blacks have an actual feeling of equality makes me want to go some place where my race won't limit me, my wife, or my kids.

Africa is my ancestral home land (and Jamaica my cultural homeland), that's the land I'll fight and die for. We might have to just take that reparations L. Good luck to the natives on getting their land back though. Cause once we're gone they might try to complete some unfinished business
