I believe she tried to huff it through the woods and died there. I've looked at her case multiple times and she was obviously an alcoholic. She just had a DUI 1 or 2 weeks before and I believe she was drunk when she wrecked

They say the snow was waist deep so if she went into the woods she would have left an obvious trail. She might have been picked up or killed by the bus driver who first called 911.

That's what I thought at first but the victim had already been married twice and had a girlfriend.

His girl actually came by the house when the roommate was there, but he quickly left without her getting a good look at his face. Seems like the suspect had already planned on killing Oakey and did not want his girl to be able to describe him after the commision of the crime.
