Sports games aren’t just repetitive year over year, they are repetitive within the game. They are literally just grinding for the sake of grinding. No deep variety across modes, just packaged grinding differently.

There’s very small variance in main character motivation. Most characters are trying to “save” something.

GTA is far more immersive than most other games. The amount of things you can do (if you want to) in the franchise is pretty unmatched in the industry. Different vehicles that actually feel different, leisure activities (gambling, golf, basketball, etc) money making activities (stock, taxi, seeking car missions) rescue jobs (fireman, police, ambulance).

John deserved what happened to him at the end of RDR1. John and the Van Der Linde Gang ruined the lives of millions during their run. And we’re supposed to feel sorry for bro. Because he gave up that life and became a rancher lol. Ross was right

The video game community overexaggerated how bad the 2000s Sonic games now that time has pass by. They leaned heavy on mainly focusing on Sonic 06 (which is a bad game as we all can agree on), but also overlooking that games like Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Heroes, Sonic Unleashed (outside of the werehog combat), Sonic Riders, Sonic Rush duology and Sonic Advance anthology all came out that decade.

What really was a dark age was the 2010s for Sonic games, outside of Sonic Generations, Sonic Colors and Sonic Mania, it was a very rough decade for the franchise.

You’re right. There’s usually a lot of GTA slander/comparison to games that aren’t nearly as immersive as GTA.
:yeshrug:The only thing you can knock Rockstar for is their mission design. But open world wise they’re the standard for a reason.

To be fair, RDR takes place at the end of the wild west era. Probably had to be a savage to survive.
