Yall see diminishing returns on doubling up units in one comp. Thinking of putting the arbalist with the archer dude to see how it works.
im on the fence

there's a few units that definitely benefit from doubling up. arches, knights (any cavalry really), fliers, and witches. and there's plenty of items to make units work differently enough for things to sync up well

There's not a universal right answer, different units counter other units. Ideally you have a unit that's really good fighting infantry, one that's good fighting evasive units, one good fighting flying units, etc. And once you have that, then figure out what combinations work.

The witch does true strike so you don't usually need to pair her with an archer

Fighter can defend from the back row or the front so it's a good sub tank, but is weaker than most other tanks, etc.

A lot to unpack but take it one unit at a time and just pay attention to the game, you'll start seeing what works and what doesn't.

Depends on the unit really. I wouldn't put the Arbalist and Hunters together. Once you get the Arbalist throw the Hunter in the bushes:manny:

Finally got to this massive ass ice continent up north. Have 70% the map at level 25 but I'm still on chapter 2. :what:

This game is fun. Just beat the dark knight dude at the end of the demo. He took out like half my crew

I will say the mid to late game feels pretty repetitive

They give you too many units and too many classes early so you've seen everything the game has to offer by the time you're out of the 3rd area. They should've paced it better

Really surprised there isn't a third promotion tier. I feel like Drakenhold being optional fukks with the balancing of the game. If you do Drakenhold you steam roll the elf area but if you go elf after the first continent you can get your ass whooped.

I actually had no idea it was optional, thought it was required to beat the game

Makes sense then

I wouldn't be surprised if drakenhold didn't exist during development but they decided to add it later to make the game easier and more palatable

And yeah, it seems clear this game should've had 3rd promotion tiers

Some classes even when promoted seem incomplete as is, like they were meant to have 3rd tiers. Like sergeant

Switched to expert and was getting walled by a mission in drakenhold, in the desert

Couldn't clear out the bases closest to me fast enough before a bunch of reinforcements would eat up my stamina. tried twice before I had to get in the lab for a solid 15-20 minutes re-equipping and shuffling my units around.

after all that I steamrolled it:banderas:
