Goldust

Hey, Dustin Rhodes was the furthest thing from Goldust in real life.

Sonny Kiss however is a genuine sissy

This is why the lockers rooms are the way they are today. Too many specials including a series dedicated just to wrestling tragedies. This generation of wrestlers have seen the effects of prior ones and learned their lessons. Especially given the lack of options out compared to the territory days.

Guess this slipped Undertaker's mind as well. WWE has stifled creativity with the excessive amount of scripting plus Vince/Bruce Prichard coming up with their own shyt ideas to execute.

Then what's Impact's problem?

And AEW's problem?

And ROH's problem?

That's the point. The whole business is full of lame ass marks.

I'm only watching AEW at this point because I support their cause, but they\re making that shyt hard.:francis:

TBF Impact actually provides a bit of creative ideas and most wrestlers actually find their true character with the promotion. Yes, there's still marks among the industry but Impact at least gave us EC3, Rockstar Spud, Broken Matt, Brian Cage, and so forth.

ROH is like a tree that falls without anybody to witness it:francis:

AEW..........................:francis:...................:francis:..............:francis:

Now granted, there isn't an edge to the product, and they are trying to be something for everybody, which is the gist of the article, however, that's not the talent's fault. The talent is doing what they can.

Pretty much. I’m sure a lot of us on this board grew up on Attitude, but we don’t want Attitude back, we simply want that rush of engaging characters and storylines. That’s it at it’s core, and unfortunately, that’s rarely happened for the longest. I love heel Reigns. Loved Kofi’s resurgence and him being a fighting champion. US Open Cena was good tv. Bryan’s rise was great. Becky’s rise after Nia broke her nose [started] great. Rollins and Ziggler’s cash-ins were amazing. These types of unpredictable moments were regular occurrences during Attitude and that’s what we miss. If Undertaker would’ve just stuck to talking about creative, no one would have a problem. It’s the extra trash he added that people have a problem with.

Vince and that writers room still not getting the real blame huh

Yea Taker did make some points, but he totally absolved Vince and the writers of any blame, when they should be the number 1 blame. The wrestlers themselves often have more interesting stuff on their social media accounts than what’s actually on tv. Remember how interesting the Mandy/Otis stuff was when they first started? That’s cause she lobbied for their stuff to be on tv. Also, there have been people doing backstage promos on WWE .com that would be highly relevant for their characters, yet it’s never shown on actual network TV. It’s like the WWE treats stuff not on tv as non-canon. That is 100% the WWE’s fault. It is the creative teams job to be creative, the wrestlers shouldn’t have to attempt to start feuds on social media accounts and practically beg for those to transfer to tv.

How can anyone expect a PG product that is marketed towards kids to be edgy? They can’t create new stars anymore and the ones they do try to create are either don’t have actually gimmicks or they push them too hard. All of the concepts like HIAC MITB etc they ran into the ground because there’s no real spots/storytelling anymore. :mjlol:

MAGA Mark hates the new generation but doesn’t mind colleceting checks for his two matches per year. Salute to these new guys for taking care of their bodies and finding other sources of income. Pro wrestling doesn’t even consider them “employees” but Taker is acting like people’s livelihood should be in the hands of Vince McMahon.

That’s the thing, they think kids are the kids from Pleasantville that aren’t exposed to things. Despite the general tameness of society, kids are watching Marvel Netflix shows (and Marvel movies in general), Walking Dead, and all types of other things like that. Yet, the WWE caters to kids who think Huckleberry Finn is extreme. They simply don’t know their audience.

Yea I agree, it’s neutering by trying to go G, and in some regards PG. Marvel/MCU is a great example of a PG13 product that everyone knows kids and young people are gonna get into, yet that edge is still there, and they don’t go overboard.

Late 80s/early 90s WWF has wild shyt going on from time to time, but a lot of us got into it during that time period, as kids. Macho Man getting bit by a cobra, Mountie shocking the shyt outta Boss Man with a cattle prod, Ultimate Warrior being locked inside of an airtight casket...WWF were still marketing to kids at the time lol

I don't even think the problem is that it's "PG" or whatever... because Taker was a top star during probably their MOST "PG" era ever, that being the early-mid-90s (shyt was more child-targeted than any era before or after it, including the Hogan years)... and I know the thing on the internet is to hate the message because of who the messenger is... but the responses to what he said is kinda proving him right. And that, to me, is the softest thing about this newer generation of wrestlers and fans- they're glad to be soft but can't take someone saying it.
