That was my exact thought seeing them in the cells next to each other.

Good point on Ernestine too, as much as I enjoyed seeing her (and that preacher's butler) off Tom like that, I couldn't understand why she wouldn't wait to do it after she was off the plantation with James.

Sounds like you guys trust white people too much.

Stein knew that the plantation owner was just telling her what she wanted to here. White people talk the most shyt.

For some reason I missed Rosalee meeting Harriet Tubman. When was that?

But yh this shoe fukkin lit, Rosalee sexy af. And I love how the characters have determination, ambition and intelligence. Rosalee playing the piano was huuuuuuuuuuuuu

NINER EMPIRE
Stabler's future Cac lineage getting offed:blessed:

Then the kid fukking lived:martin:

The finale was solid. I was a little turned off by two things though...

I know Ernestine was suffering emotionally over the death of Sam, but a better plan would've been to go to Washington DC with Thomas, and THEN kill him once she had her and her son's freedom papers. Killing him right then and there did nothing but put the entire plantation, including her last child James, at risk. I don't think such an intelligent and cunning woman like Ernestine, no matter her grief, would've taken that action when a much better option was in play...

The familiar "I've got the wounded villian dead to rights but my nobility of character refuses to allow me to kill him" trope is overplayed, Rosalee been running from Terminater Detective Stabler all this time, KNOWS dude won't stop until she's captured or dead....and won't pull the trigger :wtf: fukk outta here. Again I KNOW it's a television trope to bring back Christopher Meloni for next season, but that scene should've been written differently.

Everything else was top notch. Rosalee meeting Harriet Tubman was:salute: and I just wanna see my homie Noah reach freedom:mjcry: he gonna team up with Detective Stabler on some Django shyt next season just watch

I believe her thinking was, if she went to DC with him, he was only taking her. She needed help to kill him and she knew all the slaves on the plantation. She wouldn't know anybody in DC so it would be harder to pull off.

The Harriet Tubman scene was right after Stine found out she was going up on the block. They showed the Underground logo, then cut to that scene before they rolled the credits.

No Whammies!!
This show is NOT about slaves just being beaten into submission. The slaves are fighting back. They're escaping. They're killing their tormenters. This shyt is more like a thriller. People need to give it a chance. It's exciting.

Once they all escape its picks up pretty fast.

I watched the first couple of episodes, then I stopped and started letting it build up on the DVR because the plantation stuff was boring me. This week I decided to finish off the series to clear space off of the DVR.

The show really does get MUCH better after they escape. The comparison I haven't seen anyone make is that at that point the show is basically like "The Walking Dead" season 1, with Cato playing the role of Shane. Except, IMO better than The Walking Dead, because at least there's a point to the group wandering around.

It's filled with so many obvious anachronisms that I don't think they're even trying, though. There are references to things like lobotomies and sending money by wire transfer that didn't exist in those days, etc. My mother watched for about 10 minutes before she started complaining about the hair.

Just finished this, the acting was really good here. Probably my favourite show this year besides 11.22.63. Is Noah in the cell next to Pullman or is he not?

Good bye Coli(2014-2020)
Just finished the first season. I didn't even know about this show, I discovered it when I was working at Target and seen the Blue Ray set of this show. I was like :ehh: but then hesitate seeing that it was centered around slavery and we all know that we are all tired of these slave movies/TV shows. Anyways yesterday I gave it a try and was HOOKED.

But why is this show SOOOO underrated on here and not that many pages????:what::what::what: Its beyond me...

People this show is NOT repeat NOT your typical slave TV show/movie, it is more Prison Break but in a slavery setting. While there is some white savorism in here(at least historically accurate) there is a bunch of piff black excellence and white racists getting whats coming to them unlike in most slave movies.

Next season this show better get more pages...

Cause most folks can't actually watch the show. No full episodes available for streaming. That's how most shows get a big following. It's a lag affect. I don't have WGN so how am I gonna watch the show?

Because most people are mediocre and sleep on threatening/bold material until the fanbase reaches a breaking point. Just the way of the world.

Of course, not everyone sleeps. There are always a bunch of people who know what's up. :myman:

You had the benefit of binge watching it. If you watched just the pilot episode and had to wait a week between episodes, it looked like it was shaping up to be a more standard "slave" story. I don't think it got really good until the actual escape.
