Real talk this series is absolutely PHENOMENAL and it has forced me to take a serious reconsideration of my previously held notion that I was completely and utterly FINISHED with slavery themed stories and depictions within mainstream entertainment.
I love this show. I love the characters. I love the depth. I love that the creators haven't skimped out on showing the true horror of slavery and the complexities of white supremacy that helped contribute to the psychological imprisonment of our people.
Aldis Hodge and Jurnee Smollet are incredible.
Their chemistry is top notch and I'm rooting for them HARD CORE to find freedom and love together.
I want to see Cato burn and suffer with the same disgusted fury in which I want to see Ramsay from Game Of Thrones catch several Stark Wolf beat downs..
I hope Moses is somehow still alive and the series shows him attempting to find his way back to Boo
Little James got heart AND brains
I cheered when he told little Masa Macon to eat a dikk
Only issues I've had so far is all the over the top shyt with the Abolitionists, they are REALLY going out is their way to make them the "white Saviors" so these Cacs have someone to root for, which is cool in and of itself, but I don't need a whole episode of some crazy escaped slave torturing John JUST to show that "white people suffer too"
and his wife fukking the Deputy to keep Boo safe was
. It just seems like almost everything regarding their particular storyline is unrealistic to the MAX.
Detective Stabler's ancestor has an intriguing arc going on with his son, I'm very interested in seeing where they go with it.
I'm pouring some juice out tonight for Sam
though I felt him running at that particular junction was shoddy writing.
