In ROTR you most certainly do have a choice of which order to do missions and you can go back and complete missions you didn't do. Your own definition contradicts your post. Read what you just wrote and you are 100% describing the last of us.I don't know what brehs definition of linearity, but when you are given one path to completion with no mandarory deviations or exploration, the game is linear.
Are we really doing this? You can choose what mission to do in tomb Raider and even skip and go back to missions later. The last of us and uncharted are linear. You HAVE to do every single thing in the same exact order every single time you play the game. How is this even a serious debate?I think y'all both have different definitions of linearity. I guess if you put it that way(in relation to story progress) then TR is in fact linear. It's only "not linear' if you decide that the extra stuff(tombs, collectibles and backtracking) are apart of progress. But as far as completing the narrative, there's pretty much only one way to do so.
I'm not confused on what a linear game is breh. I know tomb raider is more open than uncharted, I never argued against that fact.
However tomb raider only has one set path to beat the game, you still have to get from point a to point b to advance the story. There is no mission structure, you can't tackle the game in whatever order you choose. Being more open than an extremely linear game like the uncharted doesn't make your game open world.
Tomb raider is not "leaning more towards open world" it's 90% linear with a few open world elements.
I never said ROTTR wasn't a good game, I like the tomb raider reboot series.
Huh? The games story isn't mission based though. You're talking about side missions which I said unless you include that as part of the main game then it's linear. You can't skip say, a portion of the main game and come back. if you want to advance the story you have to go along the normal path. Also you don't have to do things the same way when playing tlou. Even in UC there are moments where you can clear an area without alerting anyone. UC 2 had a few parts like that where I found it funny since people say it's always just hide behind cover and shoot. Are we really doing this? This is all becoming splitting hairs over something that I didn't even say to begin with. Dude completely took my joke with you out of context and now has me addressing something from way out of left field because he feels I slighted Uncharted and The Last of Us but completely ignores the nerdgasm I had over the video you just posted.Huh? Last of Us and Uncharted have Chapter Select
You can go back and replay any mission in any order you want![]()

I learned about "context clues" in elementary school so I wouldn't have to use smilies.Next time add the
smilie when you trying to be slick.

That multiplayer look craaaazy...![]()
Xbots were losing they mind on Twitter. That shyt was pathetic. These dudes are harassing developers over a picture@PS4 ain't got nothing on them dudes
Only played the second one for a little bit so I could be wrong about that (tho the game seemed very similar to the first from what u played)this is 100% false and makes me question whether you have ever even played the game before.
Breh you were the one that misunderstood a joke between me and Fatboi and took it to left field. We're going back and forth about a hypothetical point I never actually made.Only played the second one for a little bit so I could be wrong about that (tho the game seemed very similar to the first from what u played)
I beat the first a few times.
Check my trophies if you don't believe me.
Why are you still talking about tomb raider in this thread?
Can you find a negative opinion from me about tomb raider? Why are you trying to defend it to me when I never attacked the game?

Bigger isn't always betterYo UC4 about to be HUGE
After working on the first pair of "Uncharted" games and the apocalyptic saga "The Last of Us," Druckmann and Straley were brought onto "Uncharted 4" after "Uncharted 3" directors Amy Hennig and Justin Richmond departed the studio. Druckmann said the game's story changed "100 percent" when they took over the project, the first new "Uncharted" installment for the PlayStation 4.
"This is the biggest, most ambitious 'Uncharted' — let alone game — that Naughty Dog has ever endeavored to take on," said Straley. "We want to do this justice. We want it to be a mind-blowing, eye-popping, sweaty-palms adventure. Everybody is bleeding out of their eye sockets to make it come together. We want to make sure Drake is sent off properly. We want nikkaz to be like 'fukk this shyt crazy'"
http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2016/02/24/business/ap-us-games-uncharted-4.html?partner=IFTTT&_r=0"Uncharted 4" finds Drake (played by Nolan North) retired from his continent-hopping career until his thought-to-be-dead brother Sam (Troy Baker) shows up seeking his help. Their reunion puts Drake's relationship with journalist Elena Fisher (Emily Rose) in jeopardy. ("If you're done lying to me, then you should stop lying to yourself," she cautions him in the game's most recent trailer.) For the developers, the introduction of Drake's long-lost brother provided them with a unique storytelling opportunity.
"It's a way for us to get into Drake's past," said Druckmann. "This is someone who knows things about Nathan Drake that no one else knows. We're flashing back to when the two brothers were young. They haven't seen each other for 15 years. It's a way for us to lure Nate back into the world of adventure. As they go further, we'll explore their differences."
If TLOU is anything to go buy, that on average took 14H or so to beat on average.

Edit: No Jak 2 is their "biggest" game if we're going by length and whatnot but that may be due to it being open world a bit.
