Tariq ranted a good 2 years ago about how every time he tries using black filmmakers that they fall through or can’t deliver on time. LIKE THESE RANTS ARE STILL ON YOUTUBE.

I dead ass remember him saying that nikkas need to have their shyt in line. Tariq comes from an entertainer background so dude likes his shyt to look nice. His production has always been top notch for the funding he gets. Honestly the funding doesn’t even cover all of the production/interviewers. His shyt is quality.

I get being detailed about things but with all of his connects, he can't find any black folks that fit his requirements? It's almost the equivalent of "I'll go shopping in the white neighborhood because they provide better service/quality than blacks." :patrice:

I laughed so hard

Tariq said flabby and sick(to be honest he looks younger than Umar but i think he's like 8 years older than Umar)

It's sad that they're both displaying this behavior on camera with all the followers they have. It's sad.

So you’re saying we aren’t sophisticated enough to hit all of those qualifiers and produce a major documentary? We should just keep nickel and diming? I don’t see your point.
Not saying that at all. I’m saying that it would have to be a collective effort to build capital and negotiate for the best terms.

What cost are investors covering relative to the films budget? Any tax credits? What about domestic or international distribution rights?

A lot of these Hollywood producers are backed by major studios along with banks like Citi and JP Morgan bankrolling films as well.

For example Alcon Entertainment was co founded by two dudes, one is black.

They’ve put out movies like book of Eli, The Blind Side, and even the new Blade Runner film. One of their major equity sources is the ceo of FedEx who did a $550 million deal with them along with JP Morgan.

A step further with Blade Runner is that Sony put up $110 million and the film flopped.

However because of the deal the head of Sony negotiated, it’s expected Sony might actually recoup on its investment, even though the studio behind the film is going to lose money.

Equity is more than just a simple donation fam, you have to really go over contracts and negotiate for it.

I’ve never donated to tariq and haven’t seen any of his films but if people want a stake or equity in his work then you have to move like a business.

Lol, sometimes yes. I took my dads truck to a black guy to get worked on and he charged me 500 plus for a rack and pinion which wasn't bad. I took the car to a cac who worked on cars on the side and he fixed the issue for 100 dollars turns out it was a bushing for the tie rod end.

obviously not. Aside from his personal connects,he's put the word out to black businesses (via his show) to help him on various ventures. If he cant get things done with a black team etc,the show must go on.
This common sense though

At least they are entertaining...

Umoist Johnson :lolbron:

I'll rip off your daishiki and slap your titties:russ:

Tariq should've been a comedian...nikka always be going in.
Tariq's the guy who said the War for the Planet of the Apes was racist and that Phillip Defranco was a white supremacist. As funny as this is, these guys are STUPID AS HELL. It's a shame they got so much influence.

Lets be honest. Half of you posting in here are CACs or c00ns in the first place who didn’t/don’t support any of these brothers or sisters in the community.

It’s the same people in every Tariq or Umar thread hating or slandering. Only thing that lets me know is that they must be doing something right.
