The issue with infrastructure in America has less to do with taxes and more to do with the fact that the way we have designed our cities makes maintaining them too expensive.

Increasing taxes is one way to generate revenue to address the problem but it’s not a sustainable solution long term. Eventually the property taxes just get way too high for anyone to afford.

It isn’t just NYC. It’s every city.

Facts. As a Londoner when first visiting the US it hit me like a ton of bricks how big and spaced out your cities are. You damn near need binoculars to see the other side of main roads half the time

It's an old city where some houses are older than America. They do have several nice direct airport connections to central London whereas NYC has 0. But otherwise I would say NYC has better infastructure.

Also the shytty infrastructure is proof that us Americans have a valid reason to hate paying taxes. There is plenty of tax payer money to go towards paying for infrastructure, but that shyt gets lost somewhere It's not an issue of we don't have enough tax dollars to fix the infrastructure.

Homes being an income generator is what makes housing unaffordable. There should be multiple tier increases in taxation to counter this.
