human organisation is not uncharted.

and humans organise themselves in different ways depending on their particular local social drives.

exact crime time prediction is generally impossible (i can lock you up to stop you doing a crime at a particular time).

also genes do not tell you who a person is.

genes express themselves in various ways depending on the environment and no machine can know alll environments. arnold schwarzenegger may have had the genes to be a 6ft+ man mountain but if he was starved as a child/teenager it would not have happened. likewise einstein would not have discovered what he did if he was born before we had books.

crime goes up during economic recessions and not because DNA has changed. you might have genes that make you more susceptible to skin cancer but it won't matter if you live in the north pole.

GENE EXPRESSION = GENES + ENVIRONMENT

DIFFERENT COUNTRIES VIEW THINGS DIFFERENTLY

crime:

we already know about recidivism rates.

in anglo societies they keep criminal records longer and punish harder. the usa removes the right to vote.

in northern european societies punishments are softer, they believe in rehabilitation and remove more crimes from criminal history to never be mentioned again.

this is also used differently when it comes to immigration. with anglo societies being stricter (usa, canada, uk).

prostitution:

we already know it happens (and has happened since the dawn of time? everywhere).

consider after a "crime" has already happened.

anglo countries sanction it more often with the usa at the top. the usa also includes prostitution as precluding immigration.

(most) western european countries legalise and tax prostitution. germany has huge disco-looking mega brothels in and around all of the major cities.

"Germany is known as the bordello of Europe. It is a hard-won title. With more than 3,000 brothels across the country, and 500 in Berlin alone, its sex trade is worth more than £11 billion per year."

-

we already know about genetic markers for crime and illness but even the arguments based on these when made in court have to be nuanced.

I was speaking in general, not just about the crime aspect. The advancements that will happen this century will change things fast. Civilization has only been going in earnest for 5-10k years, and it evolves exponentially.

I'm also wary of saying anything is impossible when it comes to technology. Theres technology being worked on now that can literally read our minds.

If you know every detail or almost every detail of a situation there will be probably be tech in the future that has a pretty good hit rate at predicting behaviour.

Nations will use it differently. Some nations will obviously abuse it to lock up people they don't like or use it without knowing how it works, or before the tech is mature and reliable. This is why there needs to be universal framework on the use of AI, in all settings. I doubt it will happen.

which is why my example covers health insurance and medical treatment as well.

crime is just one example.

because you don't understand technology.

you are a layman guessing ...

:mjlol: read tabloid brehs. all of them would fail the "guess the number i'm thinking of" game :camby:

nature is random (as far as we can tell). so no. not for now.

Nations will use it differently.

so you agree with me now?

Plenty of other places to go in 2023. Amsterdam, Paris, Dublin, Frankfurt. They'll be at the back of the line.

We're all just guessing. Nobody can predict the future, but a society that changes rapidly due to AI is currently where we are headed. I'm looking a bit further ahead too, not just whats possible or likely in the next 10 or so years.

Yet she has voting rights that affects us normal people until the day she dies.

It's all just a dog and pony show.
