They're absolutely done but this lying piece of shyt is gonna take over:

The UK is done out ere.

Playing devils advocate - it could easily be that he had a preprepared answer and didn't listen to the question. Still not good because it means he wasn't paying attention to something serious.

If he is lying and pandering, its not remotely surprising and its what most politicians do, especially in the run up to an election. If the UK is done, the rest of the world is not doing any better.

I still think the South Park analysis of democracy is accurate, its always a choice between a giant douche and a turd sandwich. People in the UK, even the demo of old geezers reading Murdoch media, are out to punish the Tories at this point. They deserve it. I mean they were trash 13 years ago and ever since they seem to have been on a mission to ruin the country for everybody except the uber wealthy.

I would like to think if Labour get a landslide victory they will be more radical and forward thinking with their policies. They don't want to alienate the centrists right now. Thats probably wishful thinking but thats all I got.

Starmer is a huge self proclaimed Zionist, he meant what he said in the first clip. The backtracking is because he is going to likely lose Labour seats in the GE in more ethnic areas where Labour usually clean up due to his pro war crimes stance

He gave it away when he said his comments will have caused some distress in 'Muslim communities'. This isn't contrition because that would have required an apology. No, instead he's gaslighting us by saying what we heard wasn't what he actually said. :dead:

Labour have been taken over by Zionists and cowards who are afraid to say anything even remotely critical of Israel because they're afraid they'll be labelled antisemitic.

Just two high profile Labour MPs today showing us exactly what they're about.

Lammy might be the biggest sell out, slimy piece of shyt I've ever known in politics.

That is wishful thinking. Hasn't Starmer already reneged on almost everything that initially sounded worthwhile?

Pretty much. Like I said Turd Sandwich Vs Giant Douche. Lesser of 2 evils situation, at least for the British public.

What could possibly go wrong

the UK is a terrible place for civil rights and individual respect.

everything is by convention and unwritten rule. the average person condescends to everyone he deems less than .. including other average people.

leaving the gates open for massive untracked discrimination.

and nobody in power cares :yeshrug:

The AI issue is huge. This tech is going to infiltrate every aspect of life worldwide for the foreseeable future, but theres no infrastructure ready to handle it yet.

Corporations and governments just see it as a way to lower their budgets, so they'll go ahead regardless.

some countries have a constitution. others don't.

some care more about their people (ex. germany, scandinavian, switzerland) than others (uk).

look at closed circuit tv, ANPR etc. some countries overdo it (uk) and ignore citizens rights to privacy. others block google street maps and push big tech privacy laws.

that grumpy, crotchety, insufferably rude, redolent, incalcitrant, bingo-chip shuffling, grumpy faced, tech adverse, WWII granny generation is mankind's last defence against sky net :picard:

I don't think it will make a huge difference. Even if AI makes various processes negligibly worse but cheaper it will become the standard in most places. The reality is that once just one nation or corporation manages to use it in a way that gives them an advantage over the competition, it becomes the standard.

But yeah the UK will almost certainly use it in a way that backfires disastrously. We're to used to a government that cuts corners when it comes to anything cutting edge. Even Starmer after 13 years of austerity isn't talking about spending money.

no. i mean the uk gives less of a f*** about its own people.

some countries put quality above "cost".

The reality is that once just one nation or corporation manages to use it in a way that gives them an advantage over the competition, it becomes the standard.

if countries are all so results driven why do privacy laws differ? why do we have privacy laws at all?

if countries tended towards the most efficient crime control policies we would all have adopted the japanese "standard" by now.

you have never lived in a country with high standards and less-capitalist drives.

the uk lacks standards.

the ruling english mentality is so divorced from reality (and so hewn to BS and games) that it cannot manage a football team to success much less build large world class leading companies.

where's the british goldman sachs? bmw? krupp? eon? rolex? daimler? microsoft? google? lvmh? ferrari?

I take your point. But AI is unchartered territory. A lot of political scientists believe its the end of history as we know it.

Cultural differences won't apply when an algorithm can predict individual base human instincts in any scenario to a high degree of accuracy.

human organisation is not uncharted.

and humans organise themselves in different ways depending on their particular local social drives.

Cultural differences won't apply when an algorithm can predict individual base human instincts in any scenario to a high degree of accuracy.

exact crime time prediction is generally impossible (i can lock you up to stop you doing a crime at a particular time).

also genes do not tell you who a person is.

genes express themselves in various ways depending on the environment and no machine can know alll environments. arnold schwarzenegger may have had the genes to be a 6ft+ man mountain but if he was starved as a child/teenager it would not have happened. likewise einstein would not have discovered what he did if he was born before we had books.

crime goes up during economic recessions and not because DNA has changed. you might have genes that make you more susceptible to skin cancer but it won't matter if you live in the north pole.

GENE EXPRESSION = GENES + ENVIRONMENT

DIFFERENT COUNTRIES VIEW THINGS DIFFERENTLY

crime:

we already know about recidivism rates.

in anglo societies they keep criminal records longer and punish harder. the usa removes the right to vote.

in northern european societies punishments are softer, they believe in rehabilitation and remove more crimes from criminal history to never be mentioned again.

this is also used differently when it comes to immigration. with anglo societies being stricter (usa, canada, uk).

prostitution:

we already know it happens (and has happened since the dawn of time? everywhere).

consider after a "crime" has already happened.

anglo countries sanction it more often with the usa at the top. the usa also includes prostitution as precluding immigration.

(most) western european countries legalise and tax prostitution. germany has huge disco-looking mega brothels in and around all of the major cities.

"Germany is known as the bordello of Europe. It is a hard-won title. With more than 3,000 brothels across the country, and 500 in Berlin alone, its sex trade is worth more than £11 billion per year."

-

we already know about genetic markers for crime and illness but even the arguments based on these when made in court have to be nuanced.
