Overrated sweet science? Not when Dana White purposely makes some UFC PPVs free so that the buy numbers don't get crushed by boxing PPVs

Never watched a UFC card that didnt feature Brock or Kimbo in his brief stint. But mainly I watched b/c of and due to Brock.

Unless ur a hardcore follower, you dont know much about any of the guys on the undercard. You just have a bunch of heatless matches, and THAT is what did in WCW in some ways. :obama:

:stopitslime:

The whole point of an undercard is to check out the next up and comer. You dont have to be some hardcore fan to realize that. The majority of ppl buy UFC cards only if a solid undercard is attached to the ME. You were probably one of those guys like "Who are these midgets Chris Jericho and Rey Mysterio? :what: I want Hogan and the Giant :pachaha:

I think its a combination of both. The UFC didn't really pop off big until the first Ken Shamrock/Tito Ortiz fight and that had a lot of backstory and drama to it. Even the upcoming Sonnen/Silva fight is big mainly because of all the shyt talking

Actually, I REMEMBER being on AOL Chat rooms and being laughed outta the room because I said "Jericho was the next HBK" when he was nearly a nobody in early in WCW.

I know my stuff, thanks.

My point is, you got ppl fighting who nobody really knows, unless you follow Sherdog or those other sites. I dnt watch the UFC show, the only ppl I ever know are the main event guys. :manny:

I will say going to fox and mass producing all these danm worthless ppv shows were an overexposure of the brand. I personally think UFC had reached its "peak" around UFC 100. And since Dana is turning into bob arum by not giving "dream" match ups like GSp vs silva or silva vs jons or fedor vs Brock. No one really gives a Danm I know I stopped caring when rampage didn't even try to fight rashad I knew it was over.

UFC has lost some serious star power. Brock Lesnar was a huge draw. Before him Chuck Liddell was. After that, no one has really stepped up to that level. Rampage could of been a even bigger star but he doesn't seem 100% into it. GSP and Anderson Silva are carrying UFC. Jones is the only new star that I can see being a draw.

ufc basically has no depth after those three. its a product of mma, in boxing a great fighter can stay on top but in mma its much easier to lose

over saturation is the problem...

too many sub par cards... Lombard-Stann should be an opening fight... or a co-main event at the most..

This, but the problem is, they dont have enough high level guys that can headline a card. Its okay to use the Jon Jones' and the GSPs of the world to headline PPVs but the problem when it comes to the Fox events is that they use some mid level guys such as Nate Diaz, who are great fighters but arent well known to the public. Which brings me to the point Malta made about building up their fighters, they need to find a way to expose some of these guys without oversaturating the brand. They expose these newer guys like on TUF..but thats it.
