Jorge was winning the fight via decision at the time, but like they've already mentioned Nate's best rounds are late so who knows what would have happened. Nate certainly wasn't rocked by any of Jorge's hits, he just has the unfortunate luck of cutting easily due to the heavy scar tissue on his face.

either way it's a shame because the fight was really just getting started. will say even though "the doctor" is enemy number one right now, you gotta remember that doctor is under a lot of pressure himself. no way in hell he wanted to stop the fight, but he has a job to do as well :yeshrug:
:patrice:He was rocked several times breh, I think you need to go watch it again. Jorge hurt him to the body and head.

All this Nate was gonna come back shyt need to end....Nate got fukked up last night, simple as that. Masvidal Beat his ass from round 1 to round 3. Had it been a 3 rd it would have been a shut out. The doctor didn't stop it "just because of a cut" He stopped it because Jorge brutalized that eye...and was going to continue to do so unchallenged....even Nate knew that....otherwise he wouldn't have tried to save face with that lame ass promo at the end

I didnt follow nate early on in his career...did he always talk the way he talks now? Or is his slurring and mumbling a result of MMA

Anyone know?
He always sounded mostly this way. He may have a couple moments where he searches for a word or something where didn't before, but for the most part I think he sounds the same. Saying this as a fan since we was on The Ultimate Fighter Season 5 and submitted my homie Ryan Hall in BJJ in 2007.

EDIT: :ohhh::damn:He used to slur less. I looked up a video

I think part of why Diaz fans echo Nick and Nate's sentiments that they might come back is due to a couple of factors.

A: There is some precedent for it. They are durable as hell, never stop, and have each had fights where they have come back and ended up withstanding the storm only to win later. Conor vs Nate 1 is the most recent example I can think of of this for Nate, and to be clear I don't think Nate was going to come back last night.

B: The DIaz Bros believe it. In their minds they've never lost a fight in which they didn't get stopped. is it borderline delusional? Maybe a little bit. But they have such insane self-confidence and belief that they're the best that in their minds if they lose a round, or even a fight, that they didn't "really lose" and that it was just a bad decision, or things were about to swing their way, etc. Like I said, it's kind of nuts but I also have to respect it on some level because it's 100% authentic and they really believe that shyt.

The stoppage will mask the reality, Masvidal was handling him and nothing will change in a rematch.
I love Nate and Nick Diaz, but Masvidal is coming into his own right now and I think he's moving into the upper echelon. He's just a more versatile fighter at this point. It's sort of amazing how much the DIaz Bros have been able to win with their skillsets. They're essentially volume boxers that have good jiu-jitsu. Neither one hardly ever throws any kicks at all, and besides an occasional Judo throw, trip, or single, they basically don't even go for takedowns.

Nate Diaz is in the top 5 most submissions in UFC history, but if you actually look at how much time he's spent on the floor it's surprisingly little. He just boxes guys up with body and head shots until they take a panic shot on his legs and he subs them. For guys that don't have the most impressive wrestling, either offensively or even defensively, they've gone a long ways. Especially Nate.

But Masivdal is the total package. Good hands. Smart combos. One punch KO power. Impressive wrestling sequences. Good front headlock choke submissions (ie. darce and anaconda chokes). Good passing and back attacks. Demian Maia even said Masvidal is the best guy he's been on the floor with in his UFC career. That says a lot.

Just saw the Johnny Walker hype train got derailed
Shouts out to the Breh Overtime:salute:
I searched up and down for some Corey Anderson stuff to prep me for this fight....nothin. No free fights on youtube, dailymotion, embedded, nothing.
They dont promote him at all...yet this googly eyed goofball is plastered all over everywhere:camby:....im glad Corey's emotion took over for once and he got to :martin::umad::ufdup:and:sas2: all at the same time when he stared walker down after the ref stopped it

Nothing changes in a rematch. Jorge was pieceing him up all fight, the cut was bad so I can't really argue with the doctor stopping it. Two more rounds and Nate might've been at risk of a severe injury. The cut looked as bad as the one Vitaly sustained against Lennox. Nate's boxing has regressed and I blame all that time off for it. Jorge was killing his body and IMO would've probably stopped him in those last two rounds.

Till and Gastelum both looked terrible, I ain't sold on this move up helping Till. When he gets in there against the bigger dogs he's in trouble, Kelvin needs to quit bullshytting and drop to 170.

Walker fought a stupid fight and paid for it. After that first shot from Anderson connected he was clowning and got caught again. Dude better learn from this L

Kevin Lee's striking looked a lot crisper so this move to train with Zahabi seems to have paid off, would love for him to incorporate some head movement tho. We'll see if he finally lives up to his potential.
I'm not sold on lee yet , his cardio is trash

This is gonna sound dumb but I feel like Jorge let Nate off the hook a lot of times as a thank you for the fight. Not that he wasn't trying to win but giving Nate chances to make it to a decision. Possibly to get a rematch and make more $$$
