If Uber is losing that much money in a quarter, than Lyft must be losing just as much cause them niccas stay giving discounted/free rides.

I don't see how Driverless cars will work if you don't outright ban people driving their own personal cars. The risk for accidents will not be any lower. Too many x-factors on the road for me to be in the backseat of an autonomous car that the technology might not be quick enough to react to.

Uber is involved in over 150 lawsuits, and is still dealing w/ the mass protests in Europe because White people will rally around stupid shyt, but not international crises.

Which ones? That was months ago. Like I said in another post, Uber drivers themselves are holding protests in Paris because they feel they're being finessed by Uber

Sound Reasoning
Uber is moving on to self-driving cars. Phasing out drivers completely. They're looking at the long game. I don't think they're worried:ld:

@tater @Wild self

I understand you not wanting to work and robots and aaallllllll that bullshyt.

You still haven't invented the perpetual motion machine that creates energy out of nowhere.

:heh:

Breh, I have a job, I'm in school and I drive for uber. Personally, I've never drawn welfare checks or anything of the sort, but I understand the need for these programs. In no way am I advocating not working. This isn't some new idea, it's been talked about for a long time, people are just finally seeing its benefits. I'm not looking at this as an avenue in which people can explore their passions and be content with the one life we have to live, though that should be motivation enough. This is beneficial in so many other ways even for the fiscally conservative crew.

With all the info posted you can read into and see it's not some hippie welfare, save the world nonsense. Technology WILL cause people to lose jobs and corporations don't care about your wellbeing. When the masses can't find gainful employment more people will file for benefits.

We had a good run, but something needs to change. We have all this new tech and innovation yet we're still working with economic systems that haven't changed.

Also, :merchant:@ uber partnering with Volvo. Those cars are expensive as hell especially if they're trying to implement it en masse. Don't understand why they wouldn't go the Tata route or Kia, ford something like that. I'm sure these companies can find just as good of talent to work on this project.

Uber is swimming in investment money though. They'll be fine. I'm pretty sure they lose money for the countless promotions they run. I've never ever paid full price for an Uber ride.

Uber won't be around in 5 years time. Maybe even 2.
They seem to be a company with a business model that allows for massive losses of this amount...yet they still keep on going.
They won't.
Once their IPO goes public if it already has it will continue to lose steam and eventually will be devalued in terms of the company's worth.
never know amazon typically produces debt ad well, yet bezos keeps generating funds
