If you look at the chart posted by OP, membership was on the decline long before COVID.
During lockdown, a lot of people got used to viewing church online and will likely only go back for Easter and other special Sundays.

Those are double digit losses in each category, but the biggest drops are in the middle and on the left politically. No one is growing in church shyt, not even the right. Its increasingly shrinking into a shytty white supremacist Right wing cult and you love to see it.

Look at All of these dusty atheists talking down on the black church. When it the Black Church that provided safe haven for runaways, organized revolts, and taught them how to read. It was the Black Church that spearheaded the civil rights movement and many of the rights y'all currently enjoy. There should be constructive criticism in regards to the black church but going the atheist route is an expressway to dustiness. What worthy contributions have black atheists provided to the Black community?

I’m not religious and haven’t been to church regularly in like 14 years but I know it can play an important part in the community.

Every time I’ve passed a church or mosque they’ve had signs for food pantries and free clothes giveaways. The church does more good than bad
They always want pastors to be broke. If a pastor is not taking advantage of his parishioners and has other sources of income, what's the problem? They don't have any problems when they buy jewelry from these Arabs and Indians who live in the lap of luxury. They don't have a problem with European designers being wealthy. They don't have a problem with all these European owned liquor companies getting paid while poisoning the community but they have a problem with a pastors who most are not living in luxury.
