Tyson looked bemused after the press conference, where both fighters talked of God and praised each other.

“Coming to the press conference, it was very subtle, very nice, very polite here. It feels like I’m in, not church, but like a library, so to speak,” Tyson said. “Maybe I’m a Neanderthal. I’d want to kill the other guy.

“Boxing’s different from when I boxed. These are businessmen up there. … And I’m a natural born killer, and I want to win, I want to win in dramatic fashion, and I want to hurt people.
the demons are still in him :wow:

Floyd didn't disrespect Ali though. all he said was no one can tell me they are better than i am. I don't see the huge deal. And Manny is just as responsible for this fight not happening as Floyd is. They both waited. So because a boxer has wars makes him better? How about boxing brilliance int the ring. Countering shots and parrying is not running. nikkas need to learn the sport. Hit and don't get hit. Don't understand why that's hard for people to understand. And Floyd's resume alone at 130 is good enough for all time great status, just like Manny at 126.
The one thing I never argued for is liking Floyd as a person. I don't necessarily have a problem with him, but i get people who do. His Africa comments and Beiber comments were ignorant no doubt, but I understand him saying its my money i do what the fukk i want with it

Floyd or any athlete of his caliber has the right to say the are the best at what they do. Ali said he was the best. Did he disrespect Jack Johnson or Tom Molineaux? Absolutely not. It would be disrespect not to pay homage and acknowledge what his predecessors did for the sports which Mayweather did.

Tyson just took those comments Mayweather said too personal because of his relationships with Ali who was his idol growing up and who is also a key figure in his professional boxing upbringing.

"I am the greatest i said that before i knew i was"..

They got mad at him then, just like they get mad at Floyd now.. It's nothing

It's more than a Brownsville thing though - it's a generational thing. He's right. Boxers now are businessmen first, fighters second. It didn't matter what part of the world you came from, boxers of the past really had a different approach to this. shyt, press conference talking and stare downs used to have so much tension in the air. You NEVER see that now.

you dont watch enough boxing :francis:
