Tyrese to play John Stewart????

Tyrese Gibson dropped some HUGE rumor news via his Instagram page.

Tyrese posted a photoshop of him as Green Lantern, could this be a hint of some major news to come?

DC unloaded the film slate for their cinematic universe and with most of the Justice League cast being rounded out no casting for the Green Latern has been made.

Now one would assume if Tyrese were to be cast as Green Latern it would be the John Stewart version and not the Hal Jordan Green Latern, many would assume Warner Bros. would stick to.

How to do you feel about Tyrese possibly playing this essential JL character?

I like Tyrese, but I dont know about playing John Stewart.

I dont know how the character is in the comics, but in JL//JLU, he always seemed to have this gravitas about him that I doubt Tyrese could pull off.

I fukks with Tyrese in certain roles but he doesn't fit John Stewart. Stewart has a certain presence that commands respect. This is an individual who Batman and Superman see as an equal and valued comrade. I don't think Tyrese has the PRESENCE or commanding aura about him

There are only 2 people I see playing this role and both are set to play roles in the MCU

Washington doesn't fukk with any of this
Ejiofor may be wasted as some doc strange role player for Marvel
Foxx? No idea
And all others probably aren't perceived as 'high profile' enough for John Stewart, where as Tyrese has transformers and the fast/furious franchise for national and global recognition.

So I can *understand* WB's thought process. Tyrese has successfully played the 4th wheel to a couple or so nigh billy dollar movie franchises.. and that's what stewart would be along with everyone not named batman/superman/wonderwoman.

With that said... John Stewart is my favorite DC character and the idea of Tyrese playing him would have never crossed my mind. Though probably because I associate him too much with his fast/furious role in which he's comic relief... whereas in transformers he actually played military, which would be stewart's background. So I can kinda see how that could transfer over... maybe


But fukk all that for a moment..
