My timeline consists of ppl bigging this movie up as 1 of his best and supporting TP for creating his own lane and table instead of looking for a seat at somebody elses. Never been a fan but I decided to give a look.

nikka...:snoop:

I mean...if you gonna tell a story...how hard is it to tell it realistically and still be fiction?
Why act like this chick would be on a murder trial with no body present?
Why act like the prosecutions main allegation was that this 5'3 chick carried this 6'3 200+ lb. mofo, put him in a car somewhere, and dumped him....would even be able to get to trial??
What made the "lawyer" hell bent on defending her? The chick really tried and thought she killed him! Cuz she cried? The broad really was NOT innocent but she was literally going for a not guilty plea! Not guilty by reason of insanity or some shyt...just not guilty cuz dude was an a$$hole and had it coming!
Why the retarded wigs? They were not essential to the plot at all. TP and dude coulda rocked their regular cuts and a beat wouldn't have been missed.
So they had a buncha old bytches chained up in the basement (all wearing gowns for no apparent reason) but no gags. You keeping these broads alive why exactly?
Tyler Perry will put an outta shape chick in his flicks (the lawyer bestie) tryna front on some body positive shyt. But has he ever cast a real fat dude? Has there ever been a man in his flicks without a ripped 6 pack and pecs??
The cop husband Shemar Moore junior. This cat had the personality and acting chops of a door stop.
So homie got his head bashed tf in, lost mad blood....but fukk it. Ma, give me an ace bandage and some gauze and I'm good. Right back to my shenanigans. And I'm beat Shemar Moore Jr ass and have to be save by his wack acting wife.
Who was a got damn dummy and the most cringe worthy lawyer of all time. Remember the scene where she "snapped" at her husband in an attempt to show her frustration? After school special acting to this max lol. Don't she play on Black Lightning? I've seen a few eps of that and she seems better on there. Hmm maybe better direction possibly?
Am I nuts or was the courtroom steps building...the very same building Claire Huxtable was about to go in for her new job in the very next scene?? Tell me it wasn't!!
And homegirl gets off in the end. Cuz you know...she didn't kill homie. She only tried. Because he was a dikk. Makes complete sense to me.
I liked Grace lil bubble. I'da had her feeling like a new woman too :shaq:

Ashtray, bytch!!:mjlol::russ:

The husbans heel turn was obvious and hilarious:lolbron:

This movie was so bad brehs lmaoo. Could anyone else tell all of the homes were base housing? I know he filmed it at his studio but he could have at least built some make shyt towns to make it not so obvious.

Easily one of the worst movies I've seen in a long time.

The twist definitely expects you to completely ignore one of the characters in the movie entirely, and not ask how they wouldn't have spoken up about it in the say, 20 minutes of movie before.

Movie just LOOKED cheap. Them wigs they had the men wearing were....wow.

However:

I have not watched this movie because if you have seen one, you have seen them all. Like others have mentioned, Tyler Perry does not make his television or films for the art, he does it to make money. He is the American version of Nollywood.

Over his career, he has routinely chosen to not hire union actors or crew because it would be costly to him. He has amassed a fortune from doing the bare minimum and by hiring a non-union crew. That's why he directs, writes, and produces everything in a week. He does not do rehearsals for his actors and he shoots everything in 1-2 takes. He knows that racist Hollywood barely hires black people for quality content, and he exploits their desire to find consistent work.

His audience does not know nor care about the basic fundamentals of filmmaking. They don't notice his cheap sets, the lack of continuity in scenes, horrible lighting, and consecutive plot holes in scripts. They just like fukkery and want to be entertained.

The only thing that I admire him on is that he built his own away from White Hollywood. He knows that he will never produce anything with quality and his audience will never challenge him.

It's a shame because he has the resources to elevate his art and to help other black creatives in Atlanta. He has made his money by catering to a demographic that is rarely seen in Hollywood - black women.

If you want quality content from modern Black directors, I have as list: Ryan Coogler, Ava Duvernay, Steve McQueen, Barry Jenkins, Julius Onah, Dee Rees, Nia Da Costa, and more.
