If I was him I wouldn't go with AEW just yet because I agree with the thread consensus that he'd be a nobody real quick. Better to do like Cody when he first left WWE and just work work work. Twice a weekend, with as much a variety in types of opponents as possible. Not sure if his working style would fly in places like AAW or PWG but perhaps they can make it work with the right opponent
Tweak the gimmick, sharpen it on the indies, and eventually it'll build some buzz so that when he gets to AEW, the narrative isn't "freshly released and under utilized WWE talent" but rather "ex-WWE who has proven them wrong by getting hot writing his own ticket"
