Because they didnt wanna pay him the max?

Because Harden wanted to start?

Or maybe because OKC front office thought they were the smartest men in the room?

they knew they weren't going to be able to pay him. they got kevin martin who obviously is not a superstar but is a good shooter to spread the floor and a great complementary role player.

if westbrook doesn't get hurt in the first round by beverley, that team makes the finals again.

Sad part is with the new CBA coming, they would have been sittin lovely if they kept him and :camby: Kendrick Perkins bum ass.

Yeah, especially after Kevin Martin left after 1 season, this trade looks really bad for the Thunder. They should have just amnestied Kendrick Perkins and paid Harden the max and let him start. Selfishlosha should have been the 6th man and backup SG/SF to begin with, he simply wasn't a starting caliber player. Good role player but never should be starting on a championship contending team. The Thunder would have won at least 1 title, maybe 2 over the next 10 years if they had kept Harden. You're telling me that a year of Kevin Martin, hack-a-Shaq Steven Adams, and Jeremy Lamb is better long term for your franchise than paying a guy who was clearly worth every penny of the money he deserved to get?

they went to the WCF nearly 3 straight years without him.

Theyve never been back to the finals tho. They could have won titles with him. All of them were under 25 when they made their first finals appearance. Management broke that team up before it even got started.

i still think they should have traded him but got more value for him, there is no way that all 3 could exist playing major minutes in my opinion especially how we see harden is now, no defense and a ball hog and needs the ball in his hand.
