Just because the majority agrees on something does not mean they are right......Most people go through life making bad choices/decisions.......My opinion isn't black or white.......Both the shooter and the husband made bad decisions.......The husband escalated the situation by threatening a man with scissors and the shooter overreacted by shooting the husband when he was walking away.
Did you forget the part where this nikka constantly antagonized those people and tried to kick in their door?

No, she was doing too much.

NEVER grab on your man in the middle of a physical confrontation. bytches be getting nikka killed when they mighta had a chance. Basic fukking shyt, got me tight.

that dude woulda probably ended up shooting him regardless but in general I agree…I absolutely hated when anyone attempted to grab/hold me back in the middle of an argument/confrontation…I’ll elbow “you” without even looking at you (cuz I’m not turning my back on the situation) and deal with it later

Listen the shooter deserves death....but why do some of you keep repeating the wife's account of what happened when she left some key details out?....She wasn't even aware that her oldest son was in the hallway.....I can't take her account of what happened as a fact....I can only go by what's on the videotape.........She says the shooter tried to kick in the door. Yet when you watch the released portion of the video he is calmly standing by the steps.

The shooter was wrong and got what he deserved (Death)..... but the husband wasn't some innocent victim.

It's not about not doing anything or doing anything wrong.

The place has terrible walls to the point that just walking causes loud noises to the point it drives your downstairs neighbor insane. If you are the future shooter, they moved in since 2018 ... plenty of time to gather his thoughts and find a different place in a less noisy building. Same thing for the Haitian dude, got 4 growing kids in a hostile environment with regular arguments, your kids can't even be kids in there without someone complaining.

Plenty of people have used such aggravation as MOTIVATION to improve their lot because anger building over years can lead to things like this.
We stand on two different principles :manny:

There’s bullies everywhere, running only leads you to another one unless you have the means to price yourself into a gated community.

Unless I had some real beef that I activity participated in another man is never running me out of my home. It’s just not going to happen

you said you can't kill someone (generally) just based on them saying something. that statement is nonsense.

in THIS case i mean goddamn it .. it wasn't just a verbal was it .. he had scissors to the mans throat PLUS verbals.

and finally your own link says

"1. A person may, subject to the provisions of subdivision two, use
physical force upon another person when and to the extent he or she
reasonably believes such to be necessary to defend himself, herself or a
third person from what he or she reasonably believes to be the use or
imminent use of
unlawful physical force by such other person, unless:"

that covers verbal threats because it allows for a verbal thread of a future physical attack that has not happened yet.

so if i say I am going to shoot you and it is both an imminent and credible threat then you could shoot me first.

just a credible threat alone could constitute an assault.
You can’t use “I’m going to shoot you” as a threat for self defense in NY. I appreciate your conviction but the statute for NY is all that matters and then the case law. This has been argued out and the case law is words or threats don’t get you self defense.

The definition of reasonable was covered with Goetz who I mentioned before, reasonably is objective and a reasonable person doesn’t shoot someone in the back for putting a pair of scissors to their face. A reasonable person disengages.

You can’t logic a defense if the statute doesn’t allow for it, and the judge will not tell the jury they have to consider self defense making the argument pointless because it won’t merit their consideration when making a verdict.
