People getting mad at folks getting money outside the system
Got all kinds of smoke for people not wanting to work during a pandemic for bullshyt wages
Crying because certain people pay for ENTERTAINMENT they like
Conflating NBA contacts as an argument
But say something against big corporations on here and it’s
samuel-l-jackson-leonardo-di-caprio.gif

the collective of mentally ill, faux intellectual bytch made nikkas on this platform
Just miserable pieces of shyt that need to be lead to a field and murked
:unimpressed: because a lot of these twitch streamers act poor or like they struggling while making more money then most people who watch them.. they don't need donations, its like if Elon Musk starts up a twitch stream and keep all the money he makes from subs and donations.

The amount of kids/adults around the world watching gaming at all times of the day and night, 365 days a year that are subscribed and donating constantly. + ad revenue and endorsements from basically any and everything >>>>>>>> a short season of regional and national sports that only last a hour or so per game that you only pay once, capped salaries, limited contracts and endorsements from sporting companies.

how’s this even a question? Gaming overtook sports a long time ago.
So much money in it, and you NEED to upgrade your whole shyt just to compete. It's like auto racing without any regulation

Many of them are or were former pro gamers and great at the game but most of these guys at the top are just really good and entertaining to their fans
I wonder why ex pros in other fields aren't trying to do the same thing.

Imagine a man like Iverson coming on stream to shoot the shyt followed by some pick up games, hell even NBA match watch alongs. There's gotta be demand for something like that.

:russ: the twitch streamer who makes the most on the list said we all get overpaid big and small streamer. if i find that vid i post it but he was talking with other streamers saying they get overpaid
I disagree with him. Also, if he truly feels that way, nothing stops him from giving the excess money he feels he receives to charity.

Ultimately there is no such thing as being overpaid. You get paid whatever you are able to negotiate.

Y’all really trying to compare traditional sports which been around for ages and streaming which is relatively new..and it’s growing at much faster pace than any form of entertainment before it? I know y’all don’t like the idea of nikkas making money playing video games but it’s happening and it’s more popular than sports.

Those guys are older, too rich, and won’t stream consistently enough. Tpain kind of dies what you say. Tee Grizzley got his own GTA server or some shyt going.

It's all entertainment at the end of the day. Pro athletes are entertainers and so are streamers.

Statistically it's probably much less stable to be a streamer and the barrier of entry is much lower so there's more competition and median (compare to the major sports) less pay

With the major pro sports it's an automatic NO if you don't have the right genetics, with streaming anyone can plug in and talk while playing video games

Literally this breaks down and explains the entertainment mindset. Sell whatever people are willing to watch, regardless of what it is or where it comes from. Some things sell universally (Sex, violence) otherwise, just follow cultural trends and make content promoting that and eat.

Global active streamers on Twitch 2021 | Statista.

Yea, there are 8 million active streamers.
But there aren't 8 million millionaires. There's only 81. :picard:

Meanwhile, traditional sports makes thousands of millionaires just in this country, plus what soccer stars are making in other countries.
Even if you're not good enough to go pro, you can ride that to a full college scholarship.

I mean, I gues it's cool that the top 0.001 percent is getting money like that

but you literally have to be in the top 0.001 percent. :picard:

Twitch isn’t the only streaming platform :mjlol: that 81 figure only applies to money made directly from twitch. Kevin Samuels is also streamer and he likely makes just as much or more than your average athlete, but you wouldn’t know that because he doesn’t report his income. There are literally thousands of steamers doing exactly that
