After watching the first episode, it seems like Lynch threw the heavy comic contrast of the TP universe in the bushes, and is just drowning us in dread.

I did watch part of the first episode of this new season and the tone seemed much more serious and dramatic. I might just read up on what I missed from the original and start checking this out

It's certainly different and has some different characters than in the show. But it does tell Laura's story leading up to her death.

Show has been status so far. I know some of the Twin Peak fans are mad about the change in tone but I for one don't give a damn! Bar the pilot the original hasn't aged well at all. This new season is pure Lynchian madness and I'm loving it!
