After watching the first episode, it seems like Lynch threw the heavy comic contrast of the TP universe in the bushes, and is just drowning us in dread. :ohlawd:

In the most general sense, Lynch's work is not really something that's suppose to be understood - your bearings are not meant to be found, you're suppose to lose yourself in its surrealism. But yes, you will get a better understanding of who's who and the story with watching the first two seasons.

I tried a few times to watch s1 and couldn't get into it
Its fukkin terrible dude I don't get the acclaim. I kept reading that it was intentionally soap opera esque, but that doesn't make it good because its intentionally bad lol. shyt was comical at times. The way the mom was crying when she found out her daughter was murdered was comical as fukk. It was such an unrealistic reaction
