I know plenty of highly educated people that are religious. I know plenty of uneducated people that are atheist. Most people are atheists for emotional reasons.

No, people are atheistic and agnostic because religion doesn't make sense. At its core, it's an outdated and illogical belief. Religious are the emotional ones, because they're certainly not using logic to support their silly positions.
