Western media in general perpetuates the beauty standards of white people. It's not just television, it's everything. The sad thing is now we're doing their job for them, by constantly perpetuating white or light skinned women in videos.
How many popular dark black women actresses are there? Ones that are actually still making movies? Brehs I can't even imagine growing up as a young black girl in this country, having cacs AND black people shyt on you. Thank god for Michelle Obama, at least.

I have my gripe with white women outside of the fun times and minority women are better in those cases.

Idk if that's true I still prefer/black/brown women above all...at this time. It's usually what I'm surrounded by which is white ppl now. But when I see a brown skin shawty, she always catches my eye and draws me close. I typically find white the least attractive in most cases not including ppl FOB
