Looks like this has gotten off topic, but I kind of want opinions on why you all think this TV conditioning doesn't seem to effect Black women as much? :lupe:

And I mean that in terms of how she views Black men, not how she views herself.
def in how she sees herself.......and how she reacts to men. Either insecure, or superficial.. or they learn to use men. Some bypass that conditioning- but many don't because older black women... and men reenforce all that shyt in our communities.

but not as much as men are affected tho.

i think the more obvious stuff doesnt affect bw as much because alot seem to have this natural affinity to go against the authority of what they assume is being told for them to do, but instead they watch talk shows with other women who share some views they do and topics get brung up to assimilate them into a sort of group thought that they have no problem buying into because "everyone" does it

i agree, i took Ap and college. was already accepted early to msu when i was in the 11th...when i was 16--- but regardless, my overall point is that our education system is a joke. including college. The majority of people who graduated hs aren't prepared for success.

college a joke? it is a good point of networking and also for people to see a commonality on your resume if it was a rival school or the same school.

I went to Penn State for a lil bit before going to another school and I still put that on my resume.... and it's a conversation piece. I've gotten a lot of me too's and we had convos about bars and food places that gave me a common bond that helped me get some jobs.

all those points are valid..... I was referring to cost, content, and value.

I would pref not to pay just for connections and networks... I can build that on my own. .... Not that I actually paid for my education.
