I heard Brooklyn 99 was picked up by NBC tho. right?
The model is changing but the core principle is still the same, and that's watching these shows. And DVR still counts towards live viewership.
If there is zero interest/attention to these shows, it makes no sense to keep them on.
Netflix & Hulu make up the majority of their income from syndicated shows. If they had to rely on only original programming, they'd fail. Why do you think Netflix changes their library every 30 days? They need more than original programming and once the rest of the networks implement their own streaming services, Netflix will have to change its business model as well.

B99 easily could've replaced 30 Rock on that line-upThis makes a lot of sense. B99 being a NBCUniversal-produced show that fits in with the former Thursday night sitcom lineup( that consisted of The Office, 30 Rock, Parks & Rec, & Community) was obviously originally passed on by NBC before FOX picked it up. So it's makes sense to bring this show home.
I was thinking maybe we should make this thread just an official cancellations and renewals thread.
Just make it an ongoing thing where we can discuss it year round. Also discuss ratings,pilot's smaller shows that don't really have an audience for threads by themself.
