Because streaming services has increased the price of TV actor/actresses salaries to the point where they need it to be a hit to justify costs.

It’s also why you have and will be seeing more reality TV shows as they are cheaper to make and can get you the same ratings as scripted television. There’s also a looming writer’s strike on the horizon.

The last major writers strike was the one back 2007. This one will be in May if they don’t figure something out. That’s why they are getting a lot of these reality TV shows green lit just in case.

How Fox has set up their programming is where TV will be within the next 5 years. Lots of reality TV with only a few scripted TV shows here and there.

I remember that, thought there was a more recent strike :patrice:

I might be confusing it with the voice actor strike(I think)
