Tunnel fam, any ideas to add some life to the tunnel?

Its getting a little too quiet around here. Looking at the main header, the coli recently added a "Coli Movie Club" and "Weekly Music Club" and both are taking off. Shyt, we can have a "Weekly Sample Flip" or something similar. Doesn't even have to be a competition, just one person chooses a sample and anybody who wanna participate can post their flip for feedback. battles are proven to not work. I say do like a weekly sample, people vote on em, winner gets coli cash and can is exempt from next round but picks the sample...shyt idk just a thought

Yeah, battles is off the table for now. Deadlines and lack of votes ruined that. Looking at the "lounge weekly music club" thread, they have it all the way down to week 34. What if we do something similar, randomly generate order of who picks sample?...That way it's not constrained to a genre... Can't dap til Sunday at 8pm, most dap that week wins and gets coli cash. just an idea for now..

Instead of a weekly sample. I think we should just do a weekly theme. The sample flips would get boring real quick and it would cater to nikkas who specialize in that. If we get a theme running, then everybody could get involved and nobody is left out. If you don't wanna participate that week you could skip it. Like for for example one week it's a sample, next week it's some movie soundtrack type shyt, week after it's some trap, another week it's club pop sounding shyt, etc.... Just have up to like 8 producers at a time and make a poll.

I think we should also have a weekly song contest as well, so the emcees can get involved. Like who the best song over a sample or who got the best story telling song, etc..You know different themes just like the producer bracket. Nobody even has to make new songs, just post up shyt from ya catalog and get like up to 8 emcees doing it and we make a poll and vote.

I feel if we're successful with those 2 things we can eventually have a dope ass tournament where we decide which emcees and producers would make the best collabs or something in that lane. Or we could do it like cats can vote based on styles and randomly put producers with emcees and see what they come up with.

These are just simple suggestions that I feel could get this place popping.

I know some will like it and some won't, but we just throwing out ideas so it's all good.

Hell I might even take a couple dollars out of my pocket and throw up some cheap prizes or some shyt. Its w/e. I got like 5,000 songs that could be "samples" lol. lets go

the main issue is that not enough people that frequent the other sub boards of the coli, wont really visit the tunnel. I dont know why, but it seems like the traffic is damn near non existent.

Cats always come once shyt is popping. It just that we all gotta support each other and listen and comment. All it takes one sample flip or beat battle where you got 6 heads going at it and people that normally stop by and look and leave, might actually linger and comment now.

We just gotta get some type of momentum.

personally i think it would be cool if we had a beat of the week where idk a group of posters or even the whole forum can vote for their favorite beat/song on here and we sticky it. If its especially good we can sticky it in the booth. This wont "fix" everything but i know it would make me more motivated to post my better work

Yeah if there was a way where we could just showcase random dope talent to the rest of the board that would be dope, therefore when dudes drop projects those threads don't go double copper.

the plan was to do the mixtape in between the rap and beat battles. ive been slacking like crazy on getting that organized. anyone wanna help with organizing/exec producing that?

do we need a mod in this forum? i personally think that swapping out stickies often makes a forum more engaging. what do you guys think?

Sorry brehs, dunno how to multi quote... @Todd McPiff , yeah I agree the traffic in the tunnel has been ... I recall the last battle tourney we had with the WBC and IBF. we had near 100 votes in one match alone...Then the votes started falling to 20 a match My last spar with droog had 22 votes total... @LauderdaleBoss i feel you homie but man, we gotta build this back up. It's not a matter of competing at the moment. As a producer, i enjoy listening to everybody's flip on particular sample. Whether its Chubbs or TEK playing with the same sample. Too many dope producers up in here to just keep this place a ghost town.
