he's not a great rapper to me so the pedestal people seem to have put Cole on is quite baffling but i applaud his success because he was probably posting his rhymes in text on a rap forum somewhere and is now one of the bigger artists in hip-hop.
It's great when somebody has an opinion, and is able to express it so clearly that you can see where they're coming from whether you agree with it or not.
I like some of J. Cole's music but would mostly agree with OP. I don't get the Nas comparison at all btw, he doesn't even come close to being as prolific a writer.
