noz again, pretty on point.

It's great when somebody has an opinion, and is able to express it so clearly that you can see where they're coming from whether you agree with it or not. :tu:

I like some of J. Cole's music but would mostly agree with OP. I don't get the Nas comparison at all btw, he doesn't even come close to being as prolific a writer.

i've mentioned frequently, it was a terrible, lazy comparison from the jump.
people were desperate for a Nas to Drake's Jay and straws got clutched.

he's not a great rapper to me so the pedestal people seem to have put Cole on is quite baffling but i applaud his success because he was probably posting his rhymes in text on a rap forum somewhere and is now one of the bigger artists in hip-hop.

:ohhh: bra fukk up, go on twitter and search bornsinner and see how the fans feel, go on instagram and see what the fans say, just cause some lame nikkaz feel they opinion is more than it is doesn't make it right, nikka jcole has more fans than 99% of rap, not putting out overly pop music, being real to his self, and is being accept, dude dont have the help alot of his peers had and he still bigger than them, dude does his own thing, doesnt hate on other nikkaz and stay in his lane, but for reason u nikka think yall opinion should just change him and make him different when his fan love the music that he puts out  im done wit u bra, the rest of the people who dislikes cole music i can debate wit them, dog u made over 10 threads about cole, and u in every thread that somebody else makes about him, stop it

1. I don't give a fukk with "nikkas on instagram" are saying. They're corny people with corny taste in music. J Cole is a lame like 80% of the time. His rapping is what I'm basing this off of.

2. This isn't some "random nikka" but you can keep pretending like dude ain't got a point.

3. You're clearly hurt we're not holding Cole on the pedestal. He really owes his fans so much more than what they think they're getting.

And I can hear you little frutflies spitting out cheetoh dust onto your keyboard and filling my ask box with baahh but Chief Keef and Migos can write? questions. No, of course not. Those guys fukking suck at writing when compared to Cole’s ample mediocrity. But their goals are very different. They redirect the effort that they would’ve put into writing elsewhere - into delivery, into structure, into intensity, into flows, into adlibs, into hooks, into sonics. This is perfectly fine. Writing ("lyricism") isn’t everything in rap. I don’t even think it’s the most important thing. But if an artist is going to make it the focal point of their work - which is what Cole clearly aims to do - then they should be doing it better than he does. I mean not to go all old head on you but if someone is not at least striving to be as vivid as Nas or as emotive as Scarface or as imaginative as Posdnuos or as bugged out as Cam’ron then I’d be more comfortable if they were to just give up on writing entirely and make a thousand kewl grunt noises on their record.

Cole haters just can't accept the fact that he is he is doing well. He said born sinner was mediocre like its a fact. That is just an opinion. I think born sinner is a great album and so do many others. This hating ass nikka said cole can't make a project window record like nas. Who fukking cares? Nas and cole are two different people that had two different stuggles. Besides imo nas is the goat.
It seems that cole haters are mad that their prediction that cole would never be a star and that nobady cares about his music were found to be untrue. I just don't understand why cole success bothers some of you so much.

I'm a huge Cole fan.....but I can't say dude is completely wrong. What I like about Cole is that he's a deep dude, he understands the issues. A song like "Enchanted" or "Show Me Something" shows that he can make the kind of song that is universally accessible. That is what draws me to artists, the ability to make a song that is very personal but can be easily understood/appreciated by the listeners. On some of his songs I perfectly understand what he is talking about, but frankly....I don't give a f*ck :ld:

For instance, on "Land of Snakes", I perfectly understand the segment of the song where he is talking about the chick he hooked up with but never answered her calls after. We've all been there, but I didn't understand the purpose of talking about it on that particular song. What exactly was the listener supposed to draw from that particular story? Wow, you mean to tell us you got p*ssy in college?! :gladbron:

The f*ck? :dahell:

the point was to take more consideration of how u act when you out chasin cooch cause it effects women personally

but yea

for better or worse, no other rapper would have the courage to make a song as honest and vulnerable as marvins room. really out of all rappers to call out about not being deep or personal drake is THE worst one to pick

lol @ "it's not his life"....cornball
