You really don’t understand the difference between an unannounced surprise appearance at the rumble vs a couple weeks worth of hype teasing a “huge” star signing? :aicmon:

If Christian would’ve came out last night with no prior announcement, the moment would’ve hit different. How could you not see that? Or were you really that hyped to wake up first thing Monday morning and call out people on TSC who were genuinely shocked at Christians surprise appearance at the rumble because, you know, it was unannounced.
You mean a couple days? :mjlol:

Ask yourself this question, was Christian deserving of all that hype? People aren't mad at Christian, they're mad at AEW for over hyping the surprise. Also the difference is that WWE brought him in as a surprise rumble entrant, if they did what AEW did they would've gotten roasted too.
He’s a good signing. Veteran leadership for the younger cats, he can still go and has a mind for the business. No one should’ve expected Brock or Punk. Only Vince would give him the free reign to do whatever and pay millions for it, Punk for all his dislike of WWE wouldn’t go anywhere else either.
One of the criticisms of AEW is that the wrestlers have to much free reign.

AEW not needing him nor him needing AEW.

IMO AEW needs people who have national TV/wrestling promotion experience in order to help the younger talent get better. Not saying Christian will light the world on fire in the ring, but there is younger talent who could learn a thing or two from him about the business.

Except the younger talent don’t give a damn about what the old timers have to say. They’ve had vets in the back this whole time and they still put on cartoon, indie, flippy shyt. Meltzer’s validation is more important to them than a JR, Jake, Arn or Malenko.
