Arn/Flair vs Austin/Vader on Saturday Night is wild. There's really no story in the match, it's probably twice as long as it should be, it is frequently awkward or flat out messy, all four guys are completely gassed by the end, there's not even a finish, but boy is it something. I can't think of anything like it on American TV years in either direction. It's like a super hateful 80s All Japan match mixed with Wrasslin going 30 minutes on TBS.

A little background: For weeks, Col. Rob Parker was heavily recruiting Stunning Steve Austin while Brian Pillman was out with an injury. He promised Austin a US title match against Dustin Rhodes, which he delivered, and would regularly interrupt Hollywood Blondes promos and big time Pillman. At the time, Parker was managing Sid, who was lobbying for a WCW Championship shot, and he was getting pissed that Parker was spending so much time and energy on Austin instead of him. At Halloween Havoc 1993, Austin gets his title match against Dustin and loses. Sid loses a "franchise match" to Sting. Ric Flair loses his rematch for the WCW International Championship to Rick Rude. Vader defeats Cactus Jack in a Texas death match.

With an upcoming Clash, Sid challenges Ric Flair to a match on Saturday Night, with the winner going on to face Vader for the title. This is interesting because Sid puts Flair over HUGE on promos, repeatedly calling him the greatest of all time, greatest champion of all time, greatest man in the history of wrestling, etc, then they have the match and he gives Flair really what I would say was too much making Flair look like a killer. The match ends on a DQ due to Parker fukking up and the show ends with Sid chokeslamming him as Tony hits us with the WE'RE OUTTA TIME!!!!!! I believe it was the same show, where Pillman finally had enough of Parker's shyt and put hands on him, leading to Austin attacking him and the Blondes breaking up. Austin goes on to beat Pillman at the Clash, Flair beats Vader by DQ at the same event.

So come this Saturday Night, Sid asks Flair to join him against Vader/Austin, but Sid is attacked before the match in an ambush that also included Harley's other guys, The Awesome Kongs. So it seems Flair is left on a 2 on 1 against Austin and Vader only for the face lockerroom to clear house and Arn Anderson, who had already had a tag match earlier in the show with Roma, joins the match and they proceed to go 30 minutes. The real finish is Sid came back out and caused a DQ, but by the time the show aired, he had been fired so they just ended the show with the match still going and I guess just never mentioned it. I think we all are aware that Starrcade 1993 was supposed to be Sid vs Vader for the title, but the build into the middle of November really seems to be all about Flair even before Sid is fired.

Now maybe there was some rejiggering to reshape angles in post-production, but the Starrcade card to me looks like it is shaping up to be Flair vs Vader and Austin vs Sid, with Sid/Vader coming in 1994 after a valiant but losing effort from Flair at Starrcade.

Feeling nostalgic for the late 90s, remember when rap rock was big? Remember Korn? Can't believe I was at one time a limp Bizkit fan :scust:

"N2gether Now" is still dope tho :guilty:

As a youth, the angles of 93/94 that never came together such as Sid's face run against Vader for the title, or Rude's face run against Vader seemed really appealing to me. Im upset we never got to see the fruition of these. Sure, Sid wasn't going to produce any type of great matches but that 93/94 roster had enough variety to make things interesting.

Been watching some WCW 2000 PPV's, this stuff is even more awfully entertaining than I imagined.

- The opening video package of Fall Brawl is comedy gold. Hyping up the feuds and matches for the night with action figures reenacting wrestling moves.
- The Jung Dragons and 3 Count killing each other every PPV for lacklustre crowds.
- A Glacier return vignette airs, immediately he gets killed by the announcers.
- Mean Gene not caring one bit; punking out the wrestlers and hitting on the valets.
- Old man Paul Orndorff wrestling a tag match, he almost breaks his neck doing a move and he just lays motionless on the mat for a couple of minutes. All the while the other guys just continue with the match, hitting moves next to him like he isn't there.
- All the terrible Dark Carnival stuff. Sting squashing them every time in 4/5 minutes, The Great Muta phoning it in, Vampire and The Kiss Demon being lame as hell.
- Goldberg not following the script.
- Mike Awesome got a new gimmick every PPV.
- The WWE Network theme dubs only add to the fun. The Cat's Network theme is one of the worst pieces of music ever made.

And all of this is just from 3 PPV's. I love it:wow:

The buildup to JBL vs Eddie at Judgement Day was amazing, although pretty:mjpls:

Bradshaw blatantly saying, "If she dies, she dies!" after Eddie's mom having a heart attack in the middle of the ring was so demonic.

JBL cracking Eddie upside the head with a chair busting his head wide open:birdman:

Then Eddie busting JBL's head with his title belt.:demonic:
