The Taker doc was good but it lost all its emotional pull because we know how the story played out. I mean marks are probably eating it up and sobbing right now after the last episode but each episode was basically
"Idk if I can do this anymore"
"I will give it one last shot to see if I can"
Taker has either an average or atrocious match
"I'm done."
"I still have that fire though and no one but me can tell me when to go out."
Vince calls Taker for another go around.
Rinse. Lather. Repeat.
The documentary was great as far as behind the scenes access though. Him wearing the Blue Lives, Don't Tread on Me, and Trump shirts especially during this current climate was horrible though. But again, the wrestling bubble is never really affected by social media outcry or fallout.
I appreciate the effort with the documentary though. Obviously they started filming it years ago thinking Taker would have a clear cut finale by now. But Taker is like Flair and Hogan in that he's going to keep going until his body literally can not go anymore. So I applaud them making it as if that last episode was his swan song, but when the prior four episodes was literally him always saying he was done and then coming back, only the mark of marks will believe Taker's last match was vs AJ.
There will be a special edition part 6 next year where Taker talks about returning because "I owe it to the fans to do it in front of them".
