Because it made no sense to begin with and lasted a very short time

He managed hall and nash and slowly disappeared

Pointlesss

:mjlol:
No sense at all. Why would a lifetime face and old school WCW franchise guy who was a retired announcer join the NWO all of a sudden?

All these NWO defections stopped making any sense by then.

They should’ve never expanded it past Hall, Nash, Hogan and Syxx and they should’ve ended it or at least started phasing it out after Starrcade 97.

Originally it was supposee to be that ted dibiase was funding them and they were an invading company called nwo
But then it just became a stable and nothing made sense

It was suppposed to be nwo nitro vs wcw thunder
Wwe stole all that shyt eventually wit brand splits
But wcw was a disaster which only seemd to be about HOEgan

Slamboree 98...Jericho announcing all the cruiserweight battle royal contestants and shytting on all them as they come down to the ring. :mjlol:

One of the Best parts of wcw was jericho lowkey

Funny that russo was pushing him to the moon b4 he left wwf.
He was supposed to beat rock clean

Then HHH buried him until he got the injury and vince made him undisputed champ

Yeah Jericho was dope in WCW. I was pleasantly surprised the WWF gave him such a legendary high profile intro. Bischoff and them didn’t know the GOATness they had on their hands. Soon as the word JERICHO came up on the titantron the crowd went nuts.

Re-watching WWE in 2001 post WM 17 and my God. Turning Austin full heel was the worst mistake ever. I mean i understand that Austin felt his character was going stale but they could have done something else to add a layer to his current character.

They were SOOOO desperate to make Austin a hated character that it was cringe worthy. Hearing him rip the fans and doing stuff a typical heel does was awkward to watch. What made it worse was that the fans were still lowkey cheering him. And when they booed him it was like “Ok we’ll play along :francis:

Austin was never a face or heel. He was about himself and himself only and didn’t give a fukk. And that’s why the fans fukked with him.

Austin has went on record saying he regrets going heel and wishes he went back and stunned Vince at the end of WM. Would have made sense for his character to make a deal with the devil and in return turn on the devil after he gets what he wants. Vintage Austin...DTA :birdman:

Instead, they had him teaming with Hunter. Teaming him with Triple H and doing the whole 2-Man Power Trip didn’t make sense either. Even for Triple H. Why would they both want to team up after nearly killing each other a few months before. And when they had all the titles, WHY would Triple H want to carry the IC title and be 2nd fiddle to Austin? Made no sense for his character cause the main title is what drives him.

With Rock gone for those months, the babyfaces they relied on was American Bad Ass Undertaker and Kane. Which wasn’t much..

Hunter getting injured and making Austin a joke killed his character even more.

I feel it was time period where folks slowly stopped watching. I can understand..:francis:

Any ppv recommendations for wcw from 99-01? I watched a little bit of Starrcade 99 and that shyt was trash. Another typical bullshyt main event finish. What was the point of Piper screwing Goldberg? Let me guess they didn't explain it :stopitslime:

Breh Sting joining the Wolfpac and Hall joining the NWO Hollywood legit pissed me off back in the day so much so that I stopped fukking with wcw :mjlol: I actually didn't know there was no legit NWO payoff until a few years back because I stopped watching wcw :francis:

Spring Stampede 99 is a GOAT tier PPV, the 3 PPVs in 2001 are solid, not great or anything, just not terrible like the 2000 shows. Every PPV in 2000 is garbage.

It got even worse later on when they made him a "comedic" heel

Fans definitely got behind Angle as a face against Austin but when Rock came back, Angle's pops weren't the same.
