Just a gay fashion guy, there wasn't much more to it. I'm not sure about the point of his name. He wasn't a bad worker though.

End of the attitude era and when the casuals started to tune out. They had the groundwork to transition from Austin vs McMahon; Rock and Austin babyface, Vince out of the picture or reluctantly helping them a little bit, vs Shane taking control from Vince and enlisting Taker for power, but not realizing how evil/powerful Undertaker is. It was a great transition for a couple months.

Then they went back to Austin vs McMahon. Then Austin left and they did Austin/McMahon AGAIN with Rock as Austin and Vince more in the background with HHH/Steph front and center. And overall wrestling viewing died gradually.

Your timeline might be off a lil'... Casuals definitely weren't tuning out by this point, that's just summer '99. This was when Rock REALLY started taking off, then SmackDown debuted, the 'This Is Your Life' skit on Raw got the crazy ratings, then the Rock SNL episode, I think they made their most money in 2000. I'd say it started declining as it headed towards Mania X-Seven and went down dramatically after Mania.

It wasn't instant, but that was the time when casuals I knew started to tune out. Everyone says Mania 17 was the end, and Mania 17 drew a huge buyrate, probably by getting so many of their remaining viewers to buy the card, but they were losing a lot of viewers between summer 99 and Mania 17. Summer 99 WWF was getting 6s and 7s against WCW getting 3s. By Fall 2000 they were doing 5's up against WCW ratings in the 2s.

They still made a lot of money in 2000, but the magic wasn't there anymore, they were just repeating the same stuff. Rock was just as over as Austin, but none of the angles felt as new or unpredictable and shocking.

For everyone talking sh1t about Taker vs HHH tomorrow, I'm watching WCW Greed 2001 with Dusty/Dustin vs Flair/Jarrett in the semi-main event and the entire crowd is standing and probably the loudest they've been all night for Dusty and Flair facing each other one last time. They do it because the fans care.

Flair is wrestling in a hawaiin shirt and dress shoes, btw:wow::wow::wow:

It was a direct rip off of a popular SNL character at the time, Mango. They went with Kwee Wee instead of Kiwi (or other spellings) to avoid lawsuits just in case.

Making a transition from a hot angle is the biggest challenge for any promotion... WCW/NWO was red hot from 96-mid 98 and they didn't have a clue on where to go from there. The same with Austin/Mchmahon.. They kept that whole Evil Boss vs Employee angle going for several years

You mean decades. They're still doing a version of it on Raw in almost 2019. I don't think they've gone without an authority figure angle for more than 3 months since Austin/McMahon.

Supershow was boring, but I thought the main event was good. It was slow. Other matches, SD women’s matches especially, had a lot worse looking physicality and botching.

The main event was covered up with interference and all kind of distractions besides anyone really doing any work. Circle jerk shyt.
