Saw two things I don't think I've ever seen in a random Rick Martel match in the new batch of All Star Wrestling shows:


1. Martel had his opponent tied up in the ropes, Andre style. As the ref was trying to free the guy, Martel went to the opposite side of the ring to lean on the ropes to tighten them

2. The opponent (I think it was Johnny Rodz) counted his own 3 count, which pissed the ref off so much he fast counted him when Martel rolled him up

Kind of fascinating that Vince has hated to use managers over the past 20 years when you look at the 70s up to the mid 80s, literally every heel that wasn't a jobber to the stars had a manager, regardless if they could cut promos or not. Hogan, Superstar, Slaughter, the Graham brothers, Masked Superstar, Jimmy Valiant, Bugsy McGraw, Adrian Adonis, Angelo Mosca, Jesse Ventura, Stan Hansen, Iron Sheik...it was nonnegotiable for the better part of 20 years.
