I was talking about that last night. Watched ECW One Night Stand 05 and Benoit/Eddie had a match too and both of them looked like science experiments. No one with that frame is supposed to have that much muscle. That was the prime of Rey's use too, I think, and he had a match with Psicosis on the same card. Angle and Edge were there at the end of the card looking juiced to the gills.

The way everyone looks now vs. pre-Benoit incident is night and day.

Watching the Benoit/Angle match from Rumble 03 and at some point during the match, Cole said

Watched a Benoit/Malenko vs Saturn/Raven tag match the other night and Benoit did a diving headbutt off the top with a steel chair over Saturn's face and he for real just let his head drive hard as fukk into the steel chair. The announcer was like "He's sacrificing his skull and his brain, using it as a weapon" and I was like

Honestly it's crazy to watch some of those old chairshots now. Like Masato Tanaka....how is that guy not dead or drooling all over himself? He actually seems okay from what info I Googled.

the thing about steroids is that there's a tipping point for some ppl. And once they get there, it's all downhill afterwards.

You look at Rey physically now and you see what I mean....look at Angle now....last night I was watching Fall Brawl 98 and the British Bulldog had a HUGE gut at that point and dude was only 36-37 yrs old at the time...you could tell he was still taking roids. But his body was completely shot.

And he was dead in less than 2 years.

Admittedly, I'm a fan of the steroid era myself.

In terms of the way the wrestlers looked, it made it so much more believable as a kid. And then even when a smaller guy got an upset it was believable because he was really was alot smaller than the big guys back then.

If roids were still prevalent, there's no doubt in my mind that a guy like Wade Barrett would've had the strap by the now. He would've had "the look", to go along with the heel charisma/mic skills.
