Two months ago, there were rumors that had surfaced that WWE had no current plans for their UK division, until the U.K. Championship Special aired on the WWE Network. On today’s installment of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer spoke on the topic & indicated that WWE has no immediate plans for the division.
As most of you are aware, most of the UK stars such as: Tyler Bate, Wolfgang, Pete Dunne& Trent Seven to name a few; have been working indie events for quite some time now, even after working a few shows on WWE TV. The word is that no-one has been informed of the plans for the division and the original idea was to have a weekly show, but that idea has been sidelined & no dates have been set for the show.
Edge & Christian’s WWE Network show may have been cut after an entire second season was already filmed. On today’s installment of Dave Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer confirmed that WWE has decided to end the show. Edge & Christian also stated over their podcast that it may have been too pricey for the WWE.
Also, a game show that R-Truth was set to host has been cancelled as well. It was reported that the show was in the works, but now it is clear that it will not be coming to fruition. This all in the midst of “Talking Smack” being cancelled, Renee Young’s “Unfiltered” being cancelled, WWE cutting pyro among many other things that they have decided to deem unneeded.
It was stupid then..its stupid now.Idk, right after he gets in place for Jeff to land on him, so maybe the spot was supposed to be RVD misses, Jeff swings and drops a splash on him.
What's so bad about that? People preordered PPVs a lot, Meltzer right after each PPV would usually have preliminary estimates of buys.Gorilla Monsoon saying he's got word that WrestleMania VII is officially the most bought PPV ever... during the PPV Vince was on some good stuff when he fed that line
Even with the pre-orders, just to put that statement out there as fact during the actual PPV without a final count just seemed audacious. And then it didn't even do as much as the WrestleMania the year before or the Royal Rumble a couple months earlier (400,000 vs. 560,000 vs. 440,000). And they said most bought ever for all PPVs when Holyfield just did 1 million a few months earlier. It just seemed to be the most random thing to mention and lie about during a Savage and Warrior match. What's so bad about that?
