Them ECW gifs:

John+Cena+punches+Paul+Heyman.gif
End of the first segment of the first show, which was a 10 minute Raw style promo featuring Cena, Edge, Heyman, and RVD. Cena randomly decks Heyman for literally no reason after Edge speared RVD and ran into the crowd. :russ:

They follow that up by airing the entire King vs Tazz "match" from ONS from start to finish.

THEN they follow that up with THE ZOMBIE, needlessly taking pot shots at the network airing the show and WWE gimmicks in general. I think this was supposed to be some meta commentary that maybe would have worked in Philly in 1996, but not in some random city in 2006 that people paid to see Smackdown at. This was a continuation of Sandman's new gimmick that he started at ONS, beating the shyt out of actual gimmick characters starting with Eugene, which was ultra fukked to have a few thousand people roaring as this drunk beat the fukk out of a mentally handicapped character that had asked for a hug and literally BEGGED to stop being hit.

Kurt squashes one of the longest reigning ECW champions in Justin Credible, then a young girl randomly strips.

Because of Cena punching Paul, he "threw out the script" and booked an EXTREME BATTLE ROYAL with the winner going on to face Cena at Vengeance. Of course, it's 9 ECW originals and Big Show, who utterly destroyed 8 of them before being eliminated from behind by Sabu with help from Big Guido.

So, the first show was centered around a Raw PPV, John Cena and Edge took up about 12 minutes of a 42 minute (without commercials) show talking, a comedy gimmick/match, worked shoot booking, and established WWE stars dominating established ECW stars.

But then things continue and you get Sandman continuing his new comedy gimmick while using an actual ex-ECW talent as a complete unknown bump (EVEN IN PHILLY)

MORE John Cena and Edge (and Randy Orton)

MORE established WWE talent killing ECW guys

And finally RVD being a moron forcing them to change plans for the rest of the year and turn PAUL HEYMAN heel on RVD (and therefore ECW as a whole) to get the title on to Big Show in a redux of the Brock/Show angle from 2002 IN PHILLY.

Oh and btw, there is a VAMPIRE that follows each show around because Paul Heyman heard blood sucking clubs were hot at the time

Started watching Beach Blast 92 and there's a bunch of grandmas sitting in the front row. Like legit 70 year old women. Just something I've never seen before watching a wrestling show :heh:

Edit: Jesse just said Johnny B Badd would be better suited to be in the bikini contest instead of hosting it. Then said he probably doesn't even like girls. Times have changed :dead:

:dahell: Medusa wore what looks like a wedding dress in the evening gown portion of the competition.

I didn't know Greg the Hammer Valentine wrestled in WCW at this time... and he won (against not yet Buff Bagwell who was a prospect at the time) :leon:

Beach Blast 1992 is one of the GOAT PPVs. Steamboat/Rude Iron Man Match might by the GOAT American pro wrestling match of all time, imo

Network just dropped about 25 eps of World Class yesterday.

Yeah, this PPV has been great. The only thing I don't like is the "Can't jump from the top rope rule" and it actually being the end to the 6-man tag. I didn't get WCW back then and only read about it in the Apter mags :heh: back in the day so it's odd to actually see it in action.

Bruh, 1992 WCW is probably the single best workrate year for a major US promotion ever. So many dudes in or arguably in their primes at once with TV and PPV being dedicated to no nonsense smash mouth wrestling:

Rick Rude
Ricky Steamboat
Arn Anderson
Bobby Eaton
Steve Austin
Sting
Cactus Jack
Vader
Dustin Rhodes
Steiners
Gordy and Williams
The occasional Malenko/Benoit
Scorpio at the end of the year
Ron Simmons
Barry Windham
Random NJPW guys like Muta/Hashimoto/Hase/Liger/Chono/Kensue
The return of Nikita
The very good Steamboat/Douglas team

WCW 1992 is :blessed: as hell and you should watch every PPV/Clash available on the Network from that year
