I do think HBK is certainly in the top 5 GOAT WWE performers of all time. I just think the time where he was in his physical prime was the worst period in his career. Give me Rockers era to WM11, and Summerslam 2002-on before the HBK as top guy era. He just wasn't suited for the top guy role for various reasons, mostly relating to his attitude and drug issues.

I hear you.

But RR 98 HBK was very good, as was HIAC in 97.

Even with the legit WM classics that are Bret/Owen and Razor/HBK, WM 10 is FOR SURE in the bottom 5 WMs of all time. Everything outside of those two things is so absolute dogshyt. Legit EVERYTHING outside of those two matches are so fukking bad. The promos, the Clinton impersonator shyt, the matches. Just fukking AWFUL. It's kind of weird that WM 9 has such a terrible reputation when it's actually better than 10 even if nothing on it comes close to Bret/Owen and Razor/HBK.

I think you're not understanding how absolutely AWFUL everything but those two matches at WM 10 were. The baseline level match at 32 is magnitudes better than any match at 10 that isn't the two classics.

Doink/Dink vs Luna/Bam Bam, MOM vs Quebecers (title match that ends in count out), Lex vs Yoko (title match that ends in DQ), a Macho's last WM match being a falls count anywhere Texas death match with Crush were all the falls have to take place on the floor and then they have 60 secs to get back to the ring but none of that was explained to the crowd before hand, a 30 second Earthquake squash, a 3 minute women's title match that no one gave a shyt about, MULTIPLE segments with Todd Pettengill and a Clinton impersonator. The shyt that isn't Bret/Owen and Razor/HBK are so bad it drags it down to the bottom 5 level.

It's really, really fukking bad. Those two matches that are both on the top 10 WM matches of all time can't save it from being DOGshyt. It's WM 1/2/4 level awful.

WWF Wrestlemania 10

HBK/Razor and Bret/Owen are legit WM classics. HBK/Razor actually gets BETTER the crazier the stunts get in modern ladder matches, because here the ladder is used to just blast each other with and jump off of instead of finding up with labored way to take big bumps that you've seen 30 times anyway. Bret/Owen is a classic Stampede match that could have gone on another 15 minutes as far as I'm concerned. EVERYTHING else is fukking horrific. Everything.

On my rewatches, it made me realize how much i HATE triple threat mania main events. Just seems like such cop out booking and i dont like a title match on that stage ending in triple threat fukkery.

I wish wwe did more three way dance (elimination). Imo you can book that better

Lets say you booked braun roman taker in a three way dance...you can have braun beat the shyt out of undertaker when the bell rings, let undertaker rest, have braun virtually one on one roman, he gets eliminated, en you have roman vs undertaker to close the match. Its actually easier to book a three way than a triple threat.

I've noticed going thru the wrestlemanias that there seems to be more shytty ones than good ones

I think I've watched at least half of every mania at this point and its really just not a good show for the most part :skip:
Always over booked or the matches arent good or lets just put all these people in one match to make it seem like a big deal (most wm tag matches)

Omg I forgot about the segment at WM 31 where Bryan gets put over by Patterson, Piper, Steamboat, Flair, AND BRET. In a row. And then he leads them in a YES chant to end it. The furious rage if that had been someone like Roman in that segment :russ::russ::russ::russ::russ:

Even better is that Bret was always considered a "small" guy in his era, yet he towers over Bryan and looks to have bigger arms even in his mid 50s after a stroke.

It was almost as bad as Hogan towering over Billy Kidman in 2000

At least there, one was explicitly a cruiserweight, and the other was a dude named after the Incredible Hulk. With Bryan and Bret, it just really crystallized how much the industry had changed if Bret as a smaller guy in his era was SO MUCH bigger than Bryan, a small guy in his era.
