That 1st hour of Nitro become pointless.

Just random heatless matches, random matches, NWO bs. They were doomed because they wouldn't change.
Then their biggest draw Goldberg would come on at random times in the 2nd hour. Just dumb.

Man, the NWA on demand is :trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash::trash:

Take away that the match selection is pretty terrible and almost all of it has been floating around online for years, the functionality and lay out is just awful. It's like a $5 template. The actual video content is through a third party that you are actually being charged by, but nothing on the site itself says this. And there is no link to the provider, which is the only place you can check your account settings, so if you didn't check your two emails, you won't know how to cancel your sub before the trial runs out or change card info, etc.

Then, said 3rd party video player is trash, constantly locks up or buffers, has no way of changing quality, no type of time stamps or rewind/fast forward functionality, none of the content has been remastered, and worst of all, it's all been stretched out to 16:9 aspect. It's legitimately one of the worst streaming services I've ever encountered.

Remember when the NWO was rolling so deep that they were getting people from other Turner shows to turn heel?

:russ: I forgot all about the Dinner & A Movie heel turn. I remembered all the other random non-wrestler ones, like Grace Jones, Kyle Petty, Robert Vaughn, etc joined. Completely spaced Paul Gilmartin SWERVING Mean Gene and getting hit with the Diamond Cutter.

The way he took that diamond cutter :wow::patrice:

This is the same WCW that would have a full hour of unopposed air time against Raw and not only wouldn't put a single match on, but they wouldn't even have a single live shot for the whole hour. Putting HV vs Beverly Brothers against the Raw after WM (which wasn't nearly as big of deal then, to be fair) seems pretty reasonable.

Yea these 3 hour Nitros are damn near impossible to sit thru  its just a whole lot of trash. By 98' things were a complete clusterfukk, and the 3 hour format really exposed them. There are some episodes that Bret Hart are not even on at all  or he'd have a 5 minute interview spot and that would be it for him the rest of the night. this is coming off him being the hottest wrestler in the business a couple months before. Meanwhile Bischoff would have like 3 in ring segments, then you'd have Wrath, Glacier, and Horace Hogan hogging screen time :scust:..just inexcusable shyt

Brehs that was the worst time (early/mid 98) for them to be fukkin up. As a 14 year old why the fukk would I change from the goat raw to that filth?

By the end of that raw, Austin had a new belt, DX was reformed, syxx returned, and did a shoot on HOGAN, the outlaws bossed up and joined dx,

Why the HELL WOULD I WATCH NITRO GOING FORWARD? Goldberg wasn't THAT hot...not enough for me to click back to see konnan cutting a promo, or piper straight BORING ME....if they got LUCKY, the oddities would come on, and I'd see Jericho in the ring and not change back

As a sidebar, 98 Jericho was so fukkin great...this aforementioned nitro was the 1004 holds list...the only highlight all night.

For what it's worth, even tho it's "just wrestling", I'm proud to say I never jumped ship to WCW...even when WWF was in it's doldrums. My TV was still on RAW the majority of it's program vs Nitro.

I honestly never found the former WWF guys in WCW to be appealing. They were mostly past their primes to me. The only ones not past their primes were the Outsiders, but their matches in WCW were never as good as Razor/Diesel matches in WWF. It's like they just didn't give a sh*t.

Some of that is my blind WWF loyalty talking, but some of it is truth.

You know "wrestling" wise (sans some incredible workers) WWF by in large has always trailed the field right?

As a kid I watched WWF, NWA/WCW, Dallas Sportatorium. But WWF was pretty much my go to.

I know there's other feds, indys out there though with better "wrestling"

I really liked Vince on commentary with JR and King. Great being be able to see his live and instant reaction to stuff that went on

Gonna go back and watch the Screw Job again. It's interesting that Bruce Prichard said nobody knew about, including JR/King on commentary.

I always heard nobody knew about it except Vince, Shawn, Hunter, but I never truly believed it until now.

JR obviously knew SOMETHING was going to go down. He was all but screaming at you that something HUGE and CONTROVERSIAL was going to go down in the main event, which lines up with every big show where there was some big swerve ending, because JR was terrible at not giving away the surprise.
