Gorilla Moonson was such an awful play by play commentator

you're NUTS.

My all-time fav behind JR. I love watching those old house show broadcasts on there with him on commentary, and Wrestlemanias would NOT have been the same without him and the great chemistry he had with Heenan and Ventura.

So I'm watching the first SS back in 87 and its crazy how the jumping bomb angels were literally the first true high flyers/luchas in a mainstream format. What happened to those girls?
They split in the early 90s after one of the members retired from wrestling (she has or had a restaurant in NY). The other member just recently retired.

They were amazing compared to the female wrestlers of their time and today. They reminded me of a female version of the Rockers.

I know nostalgia plays a factor, but compared to Solve or JR he was pretty bad. Him and Ventura did have chemistry, but Ventura carried that commentating team. He was the color guy but he should not have been doing things like explaining psychology or correcting monsoon every 5 mins. Monsoon was bad.

Nostalgia play NO factor.

Monsoon did what he was supposed to do. He wasn't supposed to be a move by move scientific breakdown guy. Same way when Vince was on the mic, it's not the way the WWF was.

He kept everything at a broad level, injected emotion towards faces/heels to sell moments, and occasionally told you what a certain move or hold did.

And you're clearly missing the fact that Ventura did his job in playing the antagonistic character as a commentator. It's also the reason he and JR had ZERO chemistry when he jumped to WCW.

I wouldn't say awful, he was ok but it depended on who he was partnered with

He was great with Bobby Henan and Jesse Ventura, everyone else he was so so. Kind of like jerry the king; with JR he was great, everyone else he's crap

Speaking of announcers.. I hated Vince back then, I hate him even more now. His fake ass voice he would use is annoying as fukk.. as is the whole "1.... 2... HE GOT EMMM! YES!.. NO.. he kicked out." :stopitslime:

I thought it was funny how vince would get ahead of himself

My favorite was in Royal Rumble 97 when undertaker came out number 30

**Undertaker's music hits**
Vince - "and the winner of the 1997 royal rumble is on his way"

I watched wrestling in 2002 but I swear I've never seen Val Venis and Hardcore Holly tag with each other until seeing this Smackdown on the network.

Been watching some late WCW PPVs the last few days and :snoop: at how they sabotaged Mysterio those last couple years of WCW 's existence, he was wrestling with no mask and jeans :what:

And I know I can't be the only one who use to think Billy Kidman had next:sadcam: He had so much potential

shyt was awkward, felt bad for Sid out there.

Steiner could only do so many push-ups to buy time.

Roadwarrior Animal took like 10 years to get to the ring on top of it

-P-

I never saw the original match, I do remember the struggle reveal of Animal being the guy and they retired Goldberg too on that show:russ:

But that injury:snoop:

Sid was doing his thing in those jorts too
