About a 7. I really fukked with his legend killer gimmick, but outside of that... meh. Cool things about him on the surface level such as a great theme, entrance, and finisher -- but not very good once you delve deeper.

His current run, especially, is what really turns me off from him. He's just coasting with the same matches and generic viper gimmick. Him winning pointless feuds against superior talent like Rusev doesn't help either. :martin:

He did have some good matches with the likes of Christian, Taker, Benoit, and Henry to name a few. Favorite (unintentionally funny) moment would have to be this:

He never drew big ratings on his own. The Triple H program was during Wrestlemania season which always has the highest ratings for the year. Any other time he has been ratings poison.

When Rock came back, were those ratings increases because of Cena/Miz and Mania season also?

Ratings were getting major increases for his segments specifically at that time. It was beyond the usual WM spikes. The segment where he punted Vince drew some stupid viewer increase.

The angle was built around him with HHH/MCmahons reacting to him, he was much more of a focal point than them.

For at least those 3 months, he was drawing. Mania 25 did pretty well with that as the top match and a weak undercard, too.

The problem is that he’s never grown and developed beyond the end of legacy. That’s where they truly dropped the ball. He’s been drifting ever since. They’ve basically had no idea what to do with him the last 7-8 years now.

There was that time where he was getting major face pops for a month or two and it looked like they might make him the top face, then he cooled off. Since then, the past 6 or 7 years he hasnt grown, yea.

That doesn't put him below bums like Tommy Dreamer.

He'll be above Tommy Dreamer. However, he'll be below people like Chyna and Billy Gunn. :skip:

Orton probably never was over as much nor had the influence as Chyna, and Billy Gunn has probably entertained me in his career more than Orton, even unintentionally :mjlol:

I don’t think that’s the issue. Steve Austin won the first royal rumble match he entered and was headlining wrestlemania by his second year on its card. The problem is lazy and uninspired booking with no sense of direction.

He was in the 96 Rumble, he was eliminated by Papa Uce.

But Steve Austin also had been in the business for 7-8 years by that point and more than paid his dues. Orton was only like 22 or 23 when he won his first title.

I gave Orton a 5 overall. Crazy cause I was stanning him around the RNN shyt. Thought he had crazy charisma, potential to be great in the ring, and just that built in arrogance. Thought WWE fukked him turning him a little too early, they fukked up after him punting Stephanie with a shytty match. But Orton can't be excused for phoning it in so much and just being overall lazy in the ring and with promos.
