this is pretty much how i feel except i had to bump him up to a 9 for his work with Make-A-Wish and the fact he dropped a legitimately dope hip hop album

Yep I respect the hell out of his charity work. I tried to keep all the extra stuff out of my assessment to make it a balanced comparison.

Big Match John is a model citizen with the make a wish foundation and a work horse for the company for a good 15 years. Yes he has the highest mania buy rate of all time with his only mania classic with HBGOAT.
Classic feuds with DB and Punk. An excellent worker when he has to level up. Can step his in ring performance when matched with elite tier talent like.

Owens and Rocky.
Can also work well average talent like Orton, Edge and Umaga.
The man moves merchandise and is without a doubt a first ballot hall of fame member.
Let’s also not forget he made Randy Orton and Edge careers. Cena is the face of the ruthless aggression era.

Nice try but the highest Wrestlemania buyrate of all time was his first match with The Rock.

Also Edge and Umaga are far from "average".

They wanted him to but he couldn't handle the responsibilities. That's why he started doing drugs and quit after 2 years. Cena is a better all around performer so Cena was the better choice anyway.

They asked Austin to lose clean on tv...think about that..hard. Since Austin became the guy to win the Rumble 98..when on earth has he lost on tv clean? Lol. He didn' even so that during the heel run in 01 except the little roll up by RVD before No Mercy and Benoit/Jericho doing thhe double tap out..but him losing by that kind of tap out isn't a str8 up loss.
