10/10....An all time great, top 10 of all time. Like someone else said, he doesn't get the respect he deserves because the latter part of his career he whored himself out.
Mic work...10/10, yes the pandering stuff isn't good but IMO, Foley at his best is the best the business has ever seen. And its even more impressive is the fact his best stuff he did it without catchphrases, it was raw emotion. Cane Dewey, anti hardcore stuff, the stuff leading up to the I quit match against Flair, the 97 interview with JR, this should be mandatory viewing for any up and coming wrestler in the business.
Personality...10/10, someone else mentioned it, he got over with not one but 3 totally different gimmicks. If you think about it he eventually got over with 4 gimmicks because he even got over just as Mic Foley. When I was a kid in 96, Mankind legit freaked me out, I truly believe he loved pain.
Ring Work...10/10, now here me out, the point of professional wrestling is to be entertained. Yes Foley was not a ring technician, he was not a Michael's, Guerreo, Benoit, but were we not entertained watching Foley's matches ? Some of the most memorable in ring moments in my wrestling watching are from Foley. And while he may not of been a mat technician, he knew how to tell a story and understood psychology, done guys can do amazing shyt in the ring but have no idea how to tell a story, Foley was a master at this. Even when he was broken down and could be barely move, his matches against Edge at Mania and ONS and the I quit match against Flair we're great matches, they weren't clinics, they were just entertaining matches that told a great story and I wanted to see how they ended.
Also Foley gets bonus points because Foley absolutely fukking made the Rock and HHH. Some times you make a guy and they flame out, the two guys Foley made are two of the most everlasting names in wrestling history. One guy went on to become possibly the biggest action star in Hollywood, and the other is about to run the business in a few years, that's quite the resume
