Foley isn’t one of my faves but I’ll give him a ten for all the crazy shyt he’s done to entertain us he’s a legend. My two favorite matches are the hell in a cell vs undertaker and the hell in a cell vs hhh.

The remaining names are too polarizing for most of the board to give 10s so you might be right. :ehh:
Yes because you going to post hate towards Shawn. One word posts about his accomplishments. Not mentioning his was wrestler of year multiple times and match of the year. I’m against the next post.

An easy 10 for me. Mick is my all-time favorite wrestler and the reason I became a wrestling fan. His books Have A Nice Day and Foley Is Good helped me to learn more about the wrestling business and get introduced to a lot of the insider wrestling terms. I remember checking out Have A Nice Day from the library but I bought Foley Is Good which I still have.

He could play 3 personalities effectively, was a great worker who knew how to get his opponents over, had elite mic skills, and was just an overall likable guy. My favorite match would have to be his Royal Rumble match with Triple H in 2000. That Triple H feud in general was grade A face-heel work. The main reason Triple H progressed to the next level of stardom was because of his feud with Foley. Also no one can forget that his World Title win marked a momentum shift in the ratings war with WCW and was a catalyst for WWE's consistent dominance in the ratings. I also enjoyed The Undertaker feud and their Boiler Room Brawl was a great match. He was a selfless worker who took crazy risks and was an excellent storyteller in the ring. As an authority figure, he was amusingly corny and unapologetic about it. His segments with Edge and Christian were :mjlol:.

OMG forgot about his stuff with Edge and Christian :mjlol::mjlol::dead:

9.

I could point to his promo ability, how well he played his characters (Mankind, when he first came on the scene, legit unsettled me. Had me like :to: when he beat Taker at KoTR 96), and how he may have been the glue/backbone of the Attitude Era... but I can't recall anybody who risked their life more than he did for this sport. I don't know anybody with a greater pain threshold.

For that sacrifice, he gets a 9. Hell, probably deserves a 10 for that shyt. :salute:

With a scale of 1-10 how would you rate Mick Foley in these categories:

-Mic work/promos
One of the all time great promos...disturbing, psychotic, violent, cerebral promos..but could flip and be hilarious..could sell a feud with this promos..wrestlers need to go on youtube and stuff and watch his movies..full monty

-Personality/gimmicks - most wrestlers can barely get themselves over...he got over 3 gimmicks..3 very distinct gimmicks with different personalities and temperaments..complete with catchphrases...every one of them pretty violent..hell he even got himself as mick foley over..full monty

-Ring work (along with some of your favorite matches/feuds)
dude's ring work and matches are legendary...bloody and/or violent feuds and matches...japan, eddie gilbert, vader, sting, terry funk, sabu, the nasty boys, shawn michaels, steve austin, the rock, undertaker, triple h (who owes his career and relevance to him), gave randy orton his best match ever..bumper extraordinare, had pure grasp of psychology, could work with anyone and make them look good/great..full monty

-Overall rating (which doesn't have to be an average of the above scores)
mick foley is an all time great...he made it in the era he fought in despite not being roided out like most of his peers were....the patron saint of neckbeards..dude has a unique legacy..good and bad..the bad he inspired a lot of ppl like him to become wrestlers without the athletic background or ring psychology that he had...basically your hardcore wrestling/garbage spots..hes one of the founding fathers of it...however all that shyt added up...dude is in his 50s and is basically a walking cripple...what hurts his legacy is he kept on going way too long way past his prime, too much self pandering, and i try to forget about his TNA stint...that deserves a slight deduction...9.5 overall

Mick is the greatest talker in the history of the sport in my opinion both off his ability and how he could cut a 10/10 promo of any style. One of the few legit good people of the sport. Managed to make everyone he worked with look better after working with him. Got super over with 3 totally different personas. Was willing to do whatever it took to make his matches memorable. He was a key figure in 3 separate promotion and a staple of the biggest boom in wrestling history. He laid the foundation for so many things that wrestlers do regularly now, such as writing books, but his are still the best in my estimation. He’s always been gracious to the fans when I’ve seen him too. He used to regularly show up to the hooters on kirkman road by universal studios to watch pay per view events while with TNA and he’d almost always interact with the fans who’d show up too. His and Steve Austin’s hazing of DDP by stealing his towels while he was in the shower and hiding freshly baked chocolate chip cookies under his bedsheets as payback since he’d walk around naked were ingenious too :lolbron:. He gets a 10 from me.

If there was ever someone who was actually rewarded for “grabbing the brass ring” it’s Mick Foley.

Dude was ripping his own hair out weekly

Played the lovable loser to all the top guys

Never has been a terrific wrestler, but created his own gimmicks and got them over... and in the ring he was always willing to sell and do whatever to get the story told.

I’d give him a ten if I was smashing Noelle :blessed: but post nut clarity vote is a 9 for sure :salute:
