You just can’t say a bad word about AEW to some people, its wild, and I wasnt even saying they did anything wrong lmao.

I'm not afraid to criticize AEW, you'd probably know that already since you were lurking during your Michigan not beating OSU "hiatus". I also know you haven't said Tony Khan/Elite/SCU did anything wrong. My point of contention is this:

"Raids" in wrestling haven't been a thing in nearly 40 years. For past 20-30 years it's been contract based (for companies with tv deals) so poaching from another company wouldn't happen without a tampering lawsuit. Was WCW poaching WWF when they signed Jeff Jarrett after his contract expired? Was WWF poaching WCW when they signed Jericho?

Elite/SCU had their contracts expire at the same time. They had offers from ROH, WWE, and this new venture and they went with the new venture. It's not called the wrestling business for shyts and giggles.

Man that was cataclysmic....aew had some sketch business practices which directly effected impact and roh. Business is business but the only company to benefit so far is NWA and he complained because they didn't pat him on the back publicly.

If it doesn't work then how about the anniversary of his first title win...first WWF title win...first WrestleMania...first Royal rumble...birthday...etc

It wasn't that he didn't show up, because they never SAID he would...it's that they just looked dumb in general... absolutely pointless

Really tired of explaining that the Bucks, Cody, Hangman Page, and SCU all had their contracts expire at the same fukking time and they made the business decision to leave (all Elite members and I think Daniels had WWE offers on the table as well but that some how gets conveniently left out of this. Wonder why). Maybe Sinclair should have, you know, actually reinvested in the company when they've had the most publicity in years.

Sinclair + the MSG show killed ROH

The Young Bucks talk about this in their book. They didn’t want to leave ROH because they felt loyal to the company, but the contract offer they got let them know that Sinclair wasn’t interested in being a serious player.

At some point people have to actually think smarter on this point.

"Budget cuts" means "we don't want to pay this person anymore" without burying the person. It isn't "we can't afford to pay this person anymore" and only a fool would continue thinking so during their record profit run.

Budget cuts is the same as "eliminating your position" or "going in a new direction". Meltz and Robin Alvarez are so disingenuous on this talking point...

They are using "budget cuts" to nonsensically get rid of wrestlers with recent TV time, and have went corporate, in a way no sane and rational human being should defend.

WWE staved off competition for decades by stockpiling competition, there is absolutely a heartlessness in abandoning this strategy during a fukking pandemic, and it is NOT disingenuous to call WWE out for this shyt.

Thinking smarter is deading scummy capitalistic practices, not defending them.
