Yall really dont get it. The innocent are already targeted. You can make this political all you want and I agree that it is, but something has to be done. People are dying. Let me ask yall this since I keep getting questioned... How many of yall are victims of gun violence? How many of yall have people in your immediate family that were/are victims? My oldest brother was gunned down in our front yard, my youngest older (half brother) was killed by the guy he killed (best friends and they shot each other over money) right outside my uncle's garage. 2 lives gone within the hour over bullshyt. People from our hood still remember the fear when this happened. People my family dont even know still say RIP Dre, RIP Tone.. This shyt is literally destroying our collective mental health. This is shyt you never get over. How many kids have seen someone get shot in Chicago. Our people already go through too much. Our kids should not HAVE to grow up like this. If we cannot stop it then we need to bring someone in who can.

My husband and I work closely (fundraising and outreach) with Action Now and SEIU. Its too much to get into but these orgs link with other orgs to push policy and even candidates into office (we got Kim Foxx in, tried to get Chuy in). Theres a lot of poltics involved but I can say without doubt that for these efforts to continue the money cannot stop and folks are tired of wasting their money. Something drastic needs to happen or shyt will get worse and Im not talking just crime. Specifically the Fair Tax prop that will indirectly effect crime. Theres also the union war thats ongoing and directly effects poor families who live in high crime areas. Alot of shyt is intertwined and will not happen if the necessary people dont think its worth the cost. These people need the poor cause its how they get paid but they need them alive and well cause thats also how they get paid (well meaning doing better than they were but not too good). Like I said its alot to get into but theres a reason Chicago has started getting all this attention last 5 yrs..

Also to anyone questioning me about South Loop... First of all I dont owe u shyt so fukk you. fukk I need to lie for? I have been harrassed numerous times walking anywhere from Roosevelt to 27th. Last month I was robbed coming out of that specialty convenince store on 16th right under the condos. Just Wednesday, I picked my kid up from daycare and a very large group of young people, mostly male, verbally attacked me in everyway when I didnt respond to one who called out "Can I eat ur ass?" I didnt cuss him out, or reprimand his young ass as I should have been able to considering our age difference.. I simply kept walking WITH MY 3 YO and this happens.
I will say I walk alot, way more than most people so Im exposed to more but its fukking South Loop... I didnt expect this in South Loop.

Sorry about your brother and others that you knew were gunned down. I'm saying that you really don't want a doofus like Trump pulling that move. I think the Black military troops should go in and police it. Check out MrSuperboi210 AKA Harvey he gives a good perspective on this. Also, it goes way deep from the crooked law-enforcement to drug kingpins. All should be taken down. It has to be done strategically is my point. We also need good relations between the community and those troops who want to police.
Just my opinion with all due respect.
That's nice and all, but doesn't change the underlying issue. People need to stop falling for these old tactics that these disingenuous people use about solving complex problems with easy answers.
